We had the good fortune of connecting with Zachary Bobo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zachary, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I noticed as I began to dig deeper into the art of photography and videography, the love for creating art had disappeared. The financial gain and social media influence superseded the love and passion that once took over the skill of photography and videography. I saw this void and wanted to partake in filling it with my business. I started my business not to create a financial stream of income but to reveal the truly magnificent creations that inhabit this world by freezing that moment in time to be revisited.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to capturing either a still image or a cinematic sequence I pride myself on recording the true emotions of my subject. In doing this, it allows me to reveal truth. From the inception of my business, I have learned that trying to replicate another photographer/videographer work, while it aids in the conception of the idea, it can not be the driving force. Finding my own voice and passion was tough at the beginning of my journey. Once I began to relax and remember that I am bottling up moments in which may never reoccur again, I realized the path that I wanted my business to travel. I wanted to move with honesty and truthful from contract to delivering the body of work. By doing this I first had to start with myself. I ceased being frustrated by the success of others who roamed unconfined by the box my brain lived. Instead, I began moving in a way that revealed the beauty around me and not manufacture it. This not only brought me peace and success, but by operating openly and honestly it brought me to the now name of my company. Candor Visuals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On Sunday we would start with Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub. We would have their egg rolls and bottomless mimosas while battling in a card game of uno. Draw 2s do not go on Draw 4s by the way. We would Uber back to the house and rest up for Monday. On Monday we would go bowling at Funtime Bowl. We would go here specifically because I know the owner of Grub Southern Style and they got some amazing wings. I also would have to introduce them to the peach juice. On Tuesday it’s time for tacos. We would work up an appetite by showing the the Lenox mall and all around it and then head to Hankook. Its definitely a hidden gem and the shrimp tacos are my favorite. After Tacos we would go to Piemont park and the belt line. On Wednesday we would probably go to Request Boutique Atlanta and look at possibly buying some new shoes. After we would end the night at Your 3rd Spot. On Thursday we would visit the high museum and the Coke museum and end the night at Vision Lounge who has karaoke night on Thursdays. On Friday we would go to Atlantic Station and I would show them everything around there and then catch a movie at the AMC. On Saturday we would go all out being that it will be the last day. We would go to Top Golf, Beat the Bomb, Picassa’s Splatroom, and then end the night on the roof top of Ponce City Market

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definely who be on a totally different path if my parents David and Angela Bobo did not raise me to take chances and never give up on yourself. So thank you mom and dad for always having my back and for giving me the space to fall only to help me up and tell me to keep pushing.
