We had the good fortune of connecting with Yvetta Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yvetta, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
This is a good question. There have been many times that I feel as if I should quit or keep going, and when I ask my higher self if I am walking in my destiny, I get a wink from GOD. A door opens up, and an opportunity presents itself, and I become restless with creativity.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Co-Owner of Respire Massage and Spa in Atlanta, GA. Owner Ensignia Associates, Entertainment and Personal Development Consulting firm and Regen The Body Co. a line of body and home care products. What sets us apart is that we aren’t just a business but a movement. Not only do we sell products and services, we make sure to encourage total wellness spirit, mind, and body. I’m most proud of the fact that we build innovators, entrepreneurs, and help with community outreach. Leaving a footprint that others desire to follow and making a positive difference is extremely important to me. I have a vision and passion. Follow through, hard work, time management (in addition to lack of sleep), dedication, a balance with my personal and professional life, and LOTS and LOTS of prayer help me to overcome challenges. It was not and has not been easy. I’m a person that focuses on solutions, not so much the problem, and I refuse to give up. I learned how to ask and receive help. I read, study, research, network, and stay current with what is in demand, and when I’m feeling discouraged I take a hot bath, make a cup of hot herbal tea, do some mindful meditation, take a deep breath and call a friend if I need to. I also make sacrifices and learn how to budget, budget, budget. I belive in giving back and writing down things has been extremely helpful, especially when it comes to the financial aspect. I never let my gender or my race be a reason for me not to push forward although I have experienced discrimination on both ends, I truly believe that what GOD has for me is for me, no one can take that from me. If it’s meant to be it will be. It does not mean that it will be easy or that I won’t face any obstacles because I have and I will. I know that it is and will be worth it.
