We had the good fortune of connecting with Yosvanii Castaneda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yosvanii, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a musician, you have be able to wear different hats, and in the process you realize how valuable time is. I wanted to be able to provide music for my clients at a high level at the same time I was giving them great costumer service.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started studying music at the early age of 7 years old, but according to my parents, music was a big part of me way before that. Even though I learned classical music first, I quickly realized I wanted to be more in the popular music realm, and began to incorporate the violin with different music genres. And that has given me the opportunity to have a deep understanding of both worlds and has set me apart from people who only do one lane. It makes me very proud that after putting in a lot of dedication and hard work, people let me know how much they loved my performance, or sometimes, how my playing makes them feel better.
Easy?? There’s nothing easy here.
The hard work in the shadow is what makes it look easy!
I have many projects that I am immersed in,and that keeps me motivated to always keep growing.
I would love the world to see me as a musician/ entertainer that gives his all in every performance

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In a city so diverse like Toronto it is very hard to make a list of things but I will give you some of my go to places. In the summertime the city is very vibrant and there are festivals and celebrations pretty much every weekend. I would go Mildred’s temple to enjoy one of the best brunch ever! The blueberry pancakes are out of this world.
I would go to Kensington Martket for a walk and check antiques, fashion, art
I would take him to Little Italy (College St) and sit down at Cafe Diplomatico to have some pizza.
If it is a Friday or Saturday night we would go to Lula Lounge to dance salsa and have great drinks

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am extremely lucky to have a great support system. Obviously my family (wife, kids, mom, dad and my sister) has a huge role in every decision I make. They are also my biggest source of inspiration. I can’t forget about my brother Shawn Pinnock, that has believed in me since the day we crossed paths, and is to this day my creative director.
