Meet Yolanda Williams | Owner of Biblically Beautiful Skin

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yolanda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was “How can I help heal people who are going through the same skin issues as me?” Dealing with having sensitive skin and especially having eczema was torture for me. And I knew that eczema wasn’t a new thing, I wasn’t the first person to develop the skin condition, I knew there had to be other people out there dealing with the same issues or even worse. And all I could think about was “How can I help?”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.” I keep this scripture in my home office (amongst many other scriptures lol) to constantly remind me that God EXPECTS me to have a spirit of Excellence when it comes to my skincare business (and with all things I do in general). I do have moments I feel overwhelmed or feel like giving up, but every time I think about how far I’ve come, and all the things God has gotten me through, I know that there will always be a rainbow after the storm. For example, When I was formulating one of my skincare products, I kept failing the formulation and I failed like several times, and it was to the point I was getting so frustrated of failing and failing and wasting product at that point I started to doubt myself and felt like I wanted to just quit. But then God reminded me of all the successful formulations I had created up until tat moment in my life I was failing and feeling like a failure. I had already created over 30 products and because of that one particular failure I felt ready to quit. But God showed me that instead of quitting, to keep on pushing. Don’t throw it all away because of a failed experiment. Life is FULL of failed experiments, but its what you do with that failed experiment what will happen next. Will you call it quits and give up and do nothing more? Or will you learn from those failed moments, and NOT quit, and NOT give up and level up? You are more capable of learning better from failed moments than from successful ones. All those failed formulations has made me a BETTER skincare formulator! I use to be scared to formulate with certain ingredients because I had a hard time understanding how to use them, NOW I can formulate with just about any ingredient thrown at me! A lot of businesses I watch on social media never talk about their failed moments, all they want you to see is perfection… But in my opinion, that sends the wrong message to people. Social media causes so many people to feel like thy have to be and look perfect because that’s what celerities and businesses portray themselves to “look” perfect. My skincare brand is not just about taking care of your skin on the outside, but its about helping others to start feeling beautiful on the inside. Eating right, feeling right! And that its ok to not feel ok sometimes, BUT don’t stay in that mode for too long, go journal and write down your feelings, go read a book that inspires you, listen to some good soul loving music! For me, on my off days, I enjoy playing some good ol 90s R&B music, from artists like Aaliyah, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Boyz 2 Men, Ashanti, Destiny’s Child, Monica, Brandy, all the music that makes me wants to get up and move around and dance and just bring out the best inside of me. I love reading my Bible or amazing inspiring and encouraging books. Whatever you do, don’t sit in your sadness. God loves you, YOU STILL HAVE PURPOSE!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely hit the day spa up! The best time is pampering time, self care is truly amazing care. Its soooooo healthy for your entire being. Your Mental, spiritual, and physical health is so extremely important. No one can take care of t better than you can. So taking care of it is a must. Going to the day spa getting a body massage, getting a facial, getting your hair done, getting a manicure and pedicure done, you WILL feel like the Queen you should be feeling like. Self care has NEVER kilt or hurt no-one and it ALWAYS makes you feel better about yourself.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I give ALL my thanks and praises to my Heavenly Father! I couldn’t have gotten anywhere without God. God has believed in me when I didn’t know how to believe in myself. If it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t even have these gifts and talents to help others. Everyone has a God given gift, its up to us to utilize it for his Good, for his Glory! Secondly I am completely grateful for my amazing husband who has supported me and been by my side since the beginning. He has believed in me, and believed in how God wanted to use me to reach others through my skincare business. And lastly I’d love to thank all my friends and family and even strangers who have showed so much love and support from the first day I launched my skincare business on June 22nd 2021. Thank y’all for each and every like and comment on all my social media posts, for every time y’all shared my posts, Thank y’all for every time y’all told a friend about my products. I thank y’all soooooo much for filling my website up with so many testimonies on how much my products made a difference! Y’all are the heart of my business. I love y’all!!!
