Meet Yolanda Gantz | Non Profit Financial Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Gantz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yolanda, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a parent, the influence on my children is profound and multifaceted. Children learn by observing their parents, so my behaviors, attitudes, and values served as a model for how they perceive and interact with the world. Providing a secure and loving environment where they felt valued, understood, and supported emotionally was crucial for their overall well-being and development. This includes both formal education and informal learning experiences. I ensured there were clear and consistent boundaries, along with appropriate discipline. This helped my children develop self-control, responsibility, and respect for others. Having an open and effective line of communication taught my children how to build trust and be emotionally comfortable to have difficult discussions to foster better relationships. Offering praise, encouragement, and positive reinforcement boosted their self-esteem, confidence, and motivation to succeed. Parents are responsible for teaching their children essential life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, time management, and interpersonal skills, so overall, the impact of parents on their children is profound and enduring, shaping their development and influencing their future trajectories in significant ways. The most important thing of all, is I made memorable events and trips with my children and ensured we always had fun and showed love to one another.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Consulting for organizations and small businesses is never just about improving efficiency and cementing business practices, it’s about understanding the people that make up the businesses and knowing how to set them up for success. Zang Consulting works at the intersection of business and empathetic understanding, and we are a team that brings passion and a love for organization and enabling teamwork in everything we do.
What sets Zang apart is our commitment to understanding our clients. With employees that have expertise in financial strategy, human resources, and project management across businesses of varied sizes and fields, Zang Consulting is more than suited to help companies from the ground up with both business and human management. The human factor is crucial for businesses, and being able to handle it is Zang Consulting’s competitive edge.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the founders of Zang Consulting were granted a unique opportunity to utilize remote working professionals to assist business in their financial and operational stability. Our remote consulting not only allowed us to continue our work with established clients, but allowed them to grow our client base across the United States, including Non-Profit Organizations and Government Entities. During a time of global hardship, we sought to help businesses, assisting in stemming the closure and failure of what makes our country great – it’s smaller and local businesses that need any help they can get to survive and thrive.
Through the hardworking done by our company, we have established strong relationships, and watched the flourishing of many businesses and the people within them. What excites me most in this company are the future chances to continue supporting and cultivating grassroots organizations and businesses that have no where to go but up.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As an Atlanta native who loves my city from the beautiful dogwood trees to the temperamental Atlanta Falcons, I would be happy to share a few of my favorite spots in the city.
The first spot that I would take my friend on their trip to Atlanta would be to E.F.F.E.C.T. Fitness! My friends know that I am a very vocal proponent of wellness inside an out, and E.F.F.E.C.T. Fitness is my favorite place to workout. The workouts done at E.F.F.E.C.T. are draining, but the ability to connect and encourage others to push past their limits is a great way to challenge yourself and grow closer to those exercising with you. Every time I attend a bootcamp at E.F.F.E.C.T. I meet amazing people and find myself laughing, even when my muscles are burning and my lungs are empty. The teachers are great and it’s an amazing way to meet locals and work on your health!
Along with E.F.F.E.C.T., another must visit place in the area is The National Center for Civil and Human Rights. This museum focuses on current and past civil rights movements through engaging and immersive events and exhibits that teach as well as inspire empathy in visitors. I was able to visit the museum with my mother, who has always been active in fighting for the rights of individuals who are often overlooked, including individuals with disabilities and previously incarcerated people. Visiting this educational center with her was eye opening and inspiring to us both to learn about the history and the stories of individuals and groups that made and are making the world a more accepting place.
After those two spots, my favorite spot to direct visitors is to the Slutty Vegan restaurant. This restaurant is Atlanta-based and black woman owned, and has done a lot for the communities around it. Through their philanthropy they have not only donated computers to underfunded schools, but also helped provide housing for families in need and helped Clarke Atlanta College students graduate debt-free. Along with its impact on the community – the food is amazing. Vegan burgers, fries, and hotdogs that taste close to meat and are delicious. I found out about Slutty Vegan through word of mouth after the community fell in love with having delicious meat-alternatives. Since I raised a vegetarian daughter, we decided to give it a try, and haven’t looked back since. Not only are we supporting an independent business, but we’re also supporting a business that gives back to its community.
Although these are just a few of my favorite spots in Atlanta, there are many more that can help my friend understand the communal feel of the city and the history behind it.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to Shoutout my best friend, business partner, and spouse George. He has been a consistent cheerleader in my success by challenging me to be and do better. He has pushed me from being satisfied with having an associates degree to telling me that I was better than that and I needed to go back and get my Bachelors, then my Masters Degree, then my Project Management certification and he continues to push me to perfect my craft to ensure our business is long sustaining and I am happy with where our business goes in the future. Also, I need to give credit to my mother that instilled in me a hard work ethic and the importance of having good character and respect for others. I pride myself on what I have accomplished and the village that has supported me through my wins and my fails.
