Hi YannaMaria, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ever since I was a little girl , I would always dress up in the mirror out on heels and perform in front of my family . As I got older it got worse , I was in every talent show, play, anything that had to do with music basically ! I LOVEEEDDDDDD to sing, and that’s one thing that’s never changed. It’s what makes me who I am, so I feel there’s nothing better I could be doing that pursuing what I love to do.

What should our readers know about your business?
Honestly with the music industry being how it is nowadays I think what sets me apart is that I’m a jack of all trades . I sing, dance, write, and perform ! These days it’s hard to find that. I’m most proud and excited about my growth as an artist and a businesswoman in general. I love hearing the growth in my voice and range and I get older and study different vocal artists. I got here by working working and working! It’s been a lot of hard work a lot of blood sweat and tears but we’re here and we’re here to stay! Nothing in life is easy but I overcame the challenges by staying consistent and continuing to work through any and everything. I never gave up , and I never will. Some of the hardest lessons I’ve learned in this industry is that everyone isn’t your friend, and everyone doesn’t always want the best for you. Sometimes people just see you as an opportunity so it’s very important to be able to know who has your best interest at heart and who wants to see you win.My biggest lesson has been consistency is key! Also that it’s ok to get discouraged as long as you never give up! It’s hard in this industry especially as a independent artist but as long as you push forward and keep going it’ll all work out. I want people to know that this did not happen over night! I’ve been at this for YEARS! It gets hard it’s tiring and very trying sometimes , but I love it and couldn’t picture myself doing anything else. I’ve been told no a million times already but I’ll never stop because it only takes 1 yes!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week in Baltimore ? First I would HAVE to take them to graffiti alley! I love it there it’s so dope, walls full of bright and colorful graffiti makes for an amazing photo shoot ! I’d also make sure we hit an escape room , I love those things ! Anybody that knows me will attest to that. Food wise we going to my house cuz I be whippin it up. As far as an actual restaurant I’d maybe take them to DC to try something different. Definitely wanna hit the National harbor and maybe a fun museum or 2 . I don’t know I don’t do much unless music is involved so we’d have to look some stuff up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my TEAM !! First shoutout to my parents !! They are the reason I am so dedicated to my craft! My dad got me in the studio at 16 and never lets me lose that fire, always pushing me to be better ! Now my mom she’s the momager, she makes sure all my dates are locked in so I know where to be and when to be there, and she’s also just my biggest fan and supporter ! Now I can’t forget my daughter Bella, she gives me the strength to keep going when it gets hard. She always gets so excited when I sing. When she watches videos of me she’ll jump up and down and say “Mommy’s singing” and it melts my heart, letting me know this is exactly what I should be doing. We also have Myles , this is my stylist he’s always putting pieces together for me and also making sure I’m rehearsing and looking and sounding good! Now hair is always done by Ash her brand is called stashed by ash and she’s AMAZING ! nobody else ever touches my hair ! Then we have Li she’s a beastttt on the makeup and anytime you see me it’s my face beat it’s by her! One of the new rest to my team but a HUGE part is JaLena she’s the monster behind all the choreo ! She always steps out the box and doesn’t take it easy on me and that’s what I need ! I love my team and I’m so grateful because I wouldn’t be me without them !
