We had the good fortune of connecting with Yanna Atlanta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, when I decide to dive in being a nail technician and getting my own shop there was no thought process. I was terrified, unsure until I literally just took a step out of faith and it took my 11 year old to put the initial “you can do anything” in my head. As far as roller skating professionally, it kinda blew up from me just doing something else I loved in my spare time and then sharing it with other people. Definitely didn’t expect all of this but I’m truly grateful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I currently juggle all of my passions as careers right now. Doing nails allow me to having freedom of expression through art and creative designs. It’s like having moving art and I love it. Right now my skating and aerial performing (pole dancing) has taken a majority of my time. I actually conjoined the two into one art form just to has something fresh and new for people to see. Sometimes between juggles all my bookings, being a mom, being a partner, being a friend etc., it definitely gets overwhelming however having a good support system and always looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel I always seem to manage and push through. I’ve learned to just stay positive, be careful of who I keep close, save and budget funds and always make time for myself so that I can continue being that inspiration not only for myself but for others as well. When things get hard I like to reground in my place of peace and that always seems to get me back on track. At the end of the day I want what I do to always be something that I love or am passionate about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a homebody, questions like this always have me speechless but I’ll give it my best shot. I grown to love eating brunch lately. I throughly enjoy eating it at Atlantis right off Piedmont Cir. Of course we would have to hit up Cascade Skating or Sparkles Skating if it’s a Wednesday or Sunday, cause what’s a visit to the city without hitting the rink. There’s also ice skating (that I’m trying to learn) down at Atlantic Station downtown where we could all enjoy the Christmas lights with a nice cup of hot chocolate. I’m also always down for go-carts at Atlanta Motorsports Park, Bowling at Bowlero or drinks and bar hopping on Edgewood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are multiple people I would love to thank for my accomplishments so far starting with my oldest Daughter Sirrah for encouraging me, my amazing friend Solo for giving me all the solid advice I needed to get started, my childhood friend Desi for and my big sis/mentor Kamille for guiding me and always speaking my name in rooms and places I never thought I would be, my mother for being my shining light and last but certainly not least my life partner Lorenzo for holding me up and supporting me no matter what. I want to type everyone that has ever helped me but you all know who you are, friends, family, social media followers, just thank you.
