We had the good fortune of connecting with Wyatt Oates and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wyatt, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity. I was told as a kid that “If you are going to do something, do it right.” Those words stuck with me. As I went into my career, I adopted the mantra of treating projects, songs, jobs for others, even other people’s gear, etc, as if they were my own, even when they were not. That way, I put the same level of care, passion, and thoughtfulness into every project and aspect of my life and career, every time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a Record Producer and Mixer, I have tried to learn all the things I can from great records, producers, songwriters, mixers, and engineers at every step of the way. I believe that collating those aspects from awesome records and professionals, and creating my own style from it, makes my work unique and different. People seem to dig it, so that makes me happy! I somehow got here through hard work, persistence, and some good luck. The path has not been easy, but nothing really good in life ever is, so I wouldn’t change a thing. I get through the challenges by keeping the goal(s) in mind, patience and persistence, and help from others. I have learned many lessons, and continue to learn new lessons every day. Probably too many to list here, so I’ll give my favorite: “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” At Madison Records and through our affiliates, we strive to help every client and artist achieve the ultimate vision for each of their individual projects.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Madison Records, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, The Tabernacle, Georgia Aquarium, Umi, The Optimist, Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my family and friends. I wouldn’t be here without them, and their love and encouragement continues to amaze me to this day!
