We had the good fortune of connecting with William Wynne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew I didn’t want to work for someone else for the rest of my life. I actually got my last job to be able to study the fashion retail industry up close and personal. After being fired from that job (for something I didn’t do) it was the perfect opportunity to really start my own company. I looked at the entire thing as a blessing and in 30 days I’ll be opening Raleigh NC’s ONLY Private Designer Apparel Showroom.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the CEO and Owner of Rolley LLC. Rolley is Raleigh North Carolina’s first and only designer apparel showroom.

Im originally from Atlanta but moved to North Carolina in 2016 as a professional Track Athlete. I ultimately decided to change career paths and pursue my love of fashion. I noticed that there was zero designer presence in Raleigh and that people were forced to travel 2+ hours just to get to a Gucci store.

Long story short, I saw an opportunity and seized it.

This journey has taught me patience, and to always trust your vision but remain coachable. A year ago I wrote that Rolley would open in Fall 2022 and I had no idea how it would happen. It’s Fall 2022 and we open next month. It hasn’t been easy- but history is being made and for that I’m grateful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m originally from the West Side of Atlanta and home will always be home.

First stop would BAD Gyal Vegan for sure- best vegan food ever.

Then, if the person visiting me is a homegirl- I definitely have to take her to HairPorne and get her right (shoutout Yokii).

Then if it’s a Friday night we’d hit the Peter Street Art Walk before ending up at Blue Flame,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I have give GOD the biggest shoutout! Then I have give a major shoutout to Marrilynn Johnson- who’s like a God Mom to me. She introduced me to Nicole Hardy and 1925 Consulting who have been my business consultants and helped me make Rolley a reality. Together Nicole and I made the impossible possible! Next a major shoutout to my parents who believed in me and invested in my vision. Finally, thanks to previous employer for firing me and pushing me into the most successful season of my life!
