We had the good fortune of connecting with William Gary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I decided to pursue a creative career because I did not fit into the corporate structure. I’m an outside of the box thinker and have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. The ability to work in an artistic environment has afforded me the opportunity to think for myself and create freely.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel that I stand out from the rest of the pack because I’m always myself, honest, transparent, and I treat my clients like family. I feel like I can turn nothing into something and something into a master piece. I’m most excited for the future because I don’t know what to expect but I do know that I will progress more with my company and grow my brand, Lifextime Productions. I will have more experience handling diverse projects and even provide opportunities for other creatives that are interested in making a career for themselves. I got to where I am today by doing a lot of challenging projects and freelance opportunities, from taking pictures at parks to creating product videos for small businesses. Easy? No it was not easy at all . It was and is a lot of hard work, late nights, sacrifices, prayer and positive talks with myself. I overcame my challenges by blocking my distractions and ignoring the nay sayers including family and just pushing through one project at a time. A very important lesson that I’ve learned so far is no matter how big or small always treat every project as a priority and deliver the best quality. I want the world to know that I’m just getting started and I have a long way to go. I look forward to the future and working with everyone. I will be the next Tyler Perry Studios.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best-friend was visiting the Atlanta area for a week a few things that we would do are : Attend a Caffeine and Octane car meet on Sunday, grab some food at JR Crickets or Mr Fries, turn up at Magic City on Monday, enjoy drinks at a Hawks game, go kart racing at Andretti, and lastly end the week at Topgolf with food, games ,and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give credit to God for not giving up on me and connecting me with the right people like Ms. Cherry Griffin. Ms. Cherry saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself; a raw creative talented young man that has a love for film, photography and everything revolving around a camera. In 2019, I got my chance to prove myself and I couldn’t deny it. I took photos and recorded interviews for a private event. I learned a lot that evening, focusing on my composition, audio, lighting, and how to do interviews on the spot. She saw the light in me that was dimming because I was trying to play it safe and valued everyone else’s opinion on what I should do with my life. I almost gave up on my love for photography ,but Ms. Cherry wouldn’t let me quit. She told me to use the fear of failure as fuel to keep going and to never quit, “Fear” means to find every available resource. Because of Ms. Cherry, I not only learned photography, videography, editing, but also business skills, and the tenacity to never hold back in anything that I do.
