Meet Will Pohlman | Automotive Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Pohlman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Will, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to start my own business. Photography was always my main venture, a creative outlet that also allowed me to make money. One reason I wanted to start my own business is because I never liked the idea of having a “Boss”. Ive had many different jobs with the typical boss & I was never happy… I knew I wanted more. I knew for a fact that I wanted to be my own boss when I decided to drop out of College. That was what started the fire in me, if I wasn’t going to go the school route, I would have to discipline myself and work harder than ever. Starting a business & becoming my own boss came with a different set of challenges but, I wanted to prove to myself that I was capable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of my main focuses is to create Art with peoples cars, not just take a photo of their car. There are 2 parts to this, taking the photo then editing the photo to complete the vision I have created in my head. I am proud of my ability to conceive an idea, then make a reality with my tools, a Camera & Lightroom. Photographs capture moments in time, tell stories & make you feel emotion. I am proud that I can capture a cars esscence in one photo.

I got where I am today by hard work & determination. I also got here by believing in my passion & trusting my intuition. No, the journey has not been easy. There are many challenges & as I am learning these days, many of them are mental challenges. The daily you vs you. My best piece of advice would be; relax, enjoy the journey. Everything happens for a reason, learn the lessons provided by a situation or event & keep going. Never quit, you never know… all your desires could be right around the corner.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I come to the city with a friend we love to check out the car scene. The Atlanta car scene is full of unique cars & incredible people. We would go to car shows & search the city for the next photo location. I love Atlanta for the inspiration it brings me, the city is full of never been shot at locations, we would seek those out. I can’t wait to come to the city again & experience all it has to offer. If you have any Atlanta food recommendations send me some to my Instagram DMs! I don’t know of any.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe it to my Family, for all the love & constant support. More importantly, my Mom & Dad. I am extremely blessed to have parents that understand that no two paths are the same. The allowed me to make decisions about my future without placing judgment on me. They encourage open communication & following dreams. I am truly grateful for my Mom & Dad because I wouldn’t be half the man I am today without them. Thank you.
