We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Miner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, every day, we know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Honestly, my business grew out of both personal transformation and a deep desire to help others heal. I didn’t set out to be a nutritionist, plant-based chef, wellness educator or yoga instructor. It was a lot of trial and error but I simply followed what felt true.

Food was my entry point. I began exploring how what we eat affects how we feel – not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too. As I started cleaning up my own plate, I noticed a shift: more energy, more clarity, more peace. And I wanted others (especially in our African American community) to experience that too.

Over time, the business evolved organically. First, I was sharing recipes and hosting small workshops. Then came retreats, private chef work, and wellness coaching. Now, it’s a full ecosystem: nourishing people through food, movement, mindset and spiritual alignment.

Everything I offer, whether it’s the Daniel Fast, the Summer Glow Detox or a private dinner at The Verdant Table, is rooted in helping people reconnect with themselves and remember that feeling good from the inside out is possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about nourishment on every level. I help people reconnect with themselves through plant-based food, movement and spiritual alignment. That shows up in different ways: wellness retreats, private chef experiences, detox programs, yoga classes and 1:1 coaching. But at the heart of it all is the belief that healing doesn’t have to be harsh. You can feel good, glow and thrive without losing yourself in the process.

What sets me apart is that I bring my full self to this work. I’m not just handing out meal plans or telling people to “eat clean.” I’m creating spaces where people feel safe enough to slow down, listen inward and remember who they are. That’s what makes experiences like the Daniel Fast, The Verdant Table or the Summer Glow Detox so powerful. It’s not just about what you’re eating, it’s about how you’re being.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Entrepreneurship is humbling. There were moments I questioned everything. I’ve had to pivot many times, learn how to price my value, juggle motherhood and rebuild when things didn’t go as planned. But the vision always pulled me forward. I just kept listening to God, creating and staying in alignment with the truth that this work is bigger than me.

Some of the biggest lessons?

Stay rooted in your why.

Give yourself permission to evolve.

Rest is not optional – it’s required.

You don’t need to be for everyone, just for the people you’re truly called to serve.

What I want the world to know is this: my work isn’t about perfection – it’s about possibility. You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight. You can start where you are with what you have. One meal, one breath, one intentional choice at a time.

This is soul work. It’s food but it’s also healing, joy, community and legacy. And I’m just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
