Meet Westside Sei | Recording Artist & Creative Composer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Westside Sei and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Westside, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I understand that risk are necessary in life.. We live to die and to live is a risk in itself. To be given chance & choice which we are given everyday is a form of a risk.
The role risk taking has played in my life & career is phenomenal.. They say, “ no risk no reward “
I’ve had to take chances and push myself through situations where the odds were against me. Once you decide to still go through & strive through / against the odds that are against you, my friend you are a risk taker..
Taking risk have created opportunities that weren’t naturally there or given.. Risk allow you to turn nothing into something ..

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is Unique & relatable. My art is inspired by life, the sun, the moon, daily conversations.
I figured out how to turn life and all it has to give into one never ending sound track..
My entire aura and vibe is inspired by the oriental culture. I spent 3 years living in Okinawa Japan being embraced by the culture & fashion.
Hence where Sei (say) comes from.. I always have something to say. My words are Vauled by my peers so they always look to me to have something to say. I see myself as a “life sensei” here to help and guide people along my journey.
To get where I’m at today, It was not easy at all. The reason I say that because there were choices that were made before I was old enough to make my own that would help mold me in the future. One of those choices would be my father going into the military, which allowed me to travel the world.
A lot of pain, misunderstandings , ups & downs along this ride.. I had lost myself at least twice on this journey, hence the reason why I named my entity “Nothing Into Something Ent”
From Nothing We Rose With Always Something To Prove .
A lesson that I learned is that people will be people & to handle them accordingly.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Zaxbys lol, especially if they aren’t from down south because that’s just one of my ALL TIME favorite spots.. crazy yea I know.
Definitely gotta stop at the Waffle House after the club to get right after turning up!
And to be honest I’m a foodie, so I’m always open to try different food spots & hole in the wall type of places..
For the vibes?
Just gotta be in tune with the city and locked in to know what’s going on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
