We had the good fortune of connecting with Wayne Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wayne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was having the ability to generate Financial Freedom. I’ve spent years working for a job and not being able to see where my time was going, Until I decided to change my mind set. I began learning more skills and moving around my job and utilized it in my business. This was the motivation I needed to get my business off the ground and turn it from an idea to a reality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business consist of a Clothing brand and Media Company. My clothing line is called H9NU (HEN-oo) which mean to give praise in ancient kemet. I removed the E and replaced it with the 9 because the 9 represents wisdom in numerology. My brand is Fashion intuned with Culture. We provide Men and Women’s Fashion along with children. Urban apparel mixed with street wear (t shirts, hoodies, caps, etc) It wasn’t easy to get started. One of the most difficult parts were finding the right people and remaining consistent. I had to change my environment in order to be more productive. Researching your market and learning more about the field that you are in is vital. I noticed some challenges when trying to build a following. Realizing there are so much people starting a T- Shirt business. This is what made me not just want to sell T-Shirts. I then decided to sell caps, women’s crop tops & Hoodies. I then went on to start my Media Company called I Talk Grey when I have a talk show, I host Media Events interviewing Artist, Film Directors, Real estate investors to name a few. This allowed me to display my brand to a broader audience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting when he land I would take him to La granja one of the best Peruvian restaurants in South Florida. Then later we would head down to las olas on Fort Lauderdale Beach and head to Rock Bar. where we would get some drinks and listen to music and just have a chill vibes. The next day we can get brunch at shooters. Then later head to down town Miami when they have live Spanish bands and some of the best drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to Rich from ROV Productions. He is my Videography and has helped me along my journey. He is an straight forward guy, out spoken and is not afraid to empower others. A real stand up dude. He definitely deserves a shout out.
