Meet Wayne Josh | Musical Artist
We had the good fortune of connecting with Wayne Josh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wayne, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My reasoning for pursuing an artistic career stems from creativity! Being an artist has no outline, it’s freedom of expression through personal perception. I’ve always felt that i had something great to offer the world, and music is my avenue to not only express my thoughts, but deliver them in a way that could be more receptive no matter your walk of life.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My brand started back in high school, in 2008! Blessed Boy Swagg, or BBS, was a name given to me by my peers because of the kind of music I created. I mix my faith in Biblical Scriptures and experiences to create music that not only inspires but also challenges the mind to change. Though I am not where I thought I’d be in my career, it has been a rewarding journey. The hardest part of the journey was steadily overcoming obstacles and renewing my mind when deeper knowledge was attained. One thing I want the world to know about me is that I want to help folks on their journey for truth, and I firmly believe that if we learn and follow the spiritual lessons taught in scripture, we can most definitely do all things through Christ’s example. Don’t doubt, only believe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, this is a tough question for me since I recently transitioned back to a vegetarian lifestyle. But let’s say I still consumed meat based products, I’d probably take them to this hole in the wall place that’s well know in my hometown called J&Js Seafood and Wings! They have this item called salted pepper chicken wings (shrimp, chicken egg rolls, fries, okra etc) and they are amazing! Afterwards we’d probably take go to the boardwalk near the water to just to kick back and enjoy some fresh air. Later we would probably go to a bar, have a few drinks and play a few games of pool. I live in a small city, so it’s the little things that can bring much excitement round here. That or drive about an hour away to go to a bigger city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a handful of friends that I vent to, inspire, and gain inspiration from, but the biggest amount of credit goes to God. My sister also deserves some credit, she supports me while also pushing me to go outside of my comfort zone and I need that.
