We had the good fortune of connecting with Walter Travers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Walter, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business came from trying to find my purpose in life. I always knew that I loved helping people in anyway that I can. My purpose in life is to help people, but I needed to find out in what way I could bring that impact. I wanted to bring something to people that lasts well after I am gone and creates a legacy. Once I figured out my purpose, the rest was history.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Credit Card Maestro is a brand that was started in 2017. My first focus of my business is to bring financial awareness to people of all backgrounds when it comes to the importance of credit. My second focus of my business is to inspire other travel enthusiasts that you can travel lavishly without breaking the bank by using your credit card rewards for free/cheap travel. Those two focuses of my brand bounce off of each other.
What sets The Credit Card Maestro brand from others is simplicity. Everything I do when I record my videos (lighting, music, candles etc) set a tone that keeps the nerves calm and ears open. I keep things simple enough that anyone can follow my strategies and suggestions. Many of my supporters appreciate and comment on how easy I make things, and that for too long they were overwhelmed from other brands that make things more complicated than what they need to be. Credit is a stressful topic within itself; I make credit easy.
I am most proud of the support and impact I have made on peoples lives. I always knew eventually I would make an impact but when it happens, it hits home and is an indescribable feeling.
It was not easy to get to where my business is today but definitely worth the process. I had to overcome growing up in rough neighborhoods and poverty. I overcame my obstacles by utilizing mentors and their experiences.
The biggest lesson I have learned and still learn in every aspect of my life is that failure is 100% guaranteed if I give up. I never want to guarantee myself failure, so I will always keep going.
I want the world to know that The Credit Card Maestro brand is and will always focus on one goal. That goal is to give you opportunities and knowledge to be in a better financial position.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area we would definitely be in the tourist sections of Atlanta. We would check out some of the museums, historic landmarks, and popular attractions in the city. We are foodies so Poor Calvin’s would be on the top of our list for food. We would head to Piedmont park, The Coca Cola factory, the Delta Flight museum, and SkyView Atlanta. For drinks and hanging out, we would go The Roof at Ponce City Market. I recommend these places for anyone who likes to have fun and get great views of the city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my younger brother Michael. My brother made me realize at an early age that I had someone looking up to me with everything I do. I pride myself on making sure I am constantly learning and growing so I can pass along the knowledge and experience to him. My goal is to make everything we go through in life an easier version for him.
