We had the good fortune of connecting with Walter Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Walter, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Whether to quit my job and go back to cosmetology school full time. I had a really good job as a manager in a the banking industry, but just was not happy, so I prayed for a sign on what I should do. once I received it I enrolled in school 2 days later part time. However, it was extremely hard working full time, doing hair part time, and going to school. 5 months after starting, I stepped out on faith, quit my job and changed to school full time. 1 OF THE BEST DECISIONS I EVER MADE!!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
the way that I color hair and wigs really sets me apart. I’ve always thought a lil color can totally change a look. im most proud of quickly I was able to reach my goals. I set 2 year goals that I wanted to accomplish when moving to Atlanta and I completed the entire list within 1 1/2 years, while in a pandemic. hard work and dedication got me to where I am today. it definitely was not easy there was a lot of long nights and sacrifice, (it stills is lol). I’ve learned that every job is not good. ive been offered to do a lot where its clients or being on tv, respect your brand and yourself and don’t do everything that is thrown at you.. all money is not good money! At the end of the day I’m still the same laid back humble guy from memphis that like to talk smack and play spades with his friends!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would eat a whole lot lol!! Definitely lunch at Ra Sushi, followed by wine at Cynthia Bailey’s Wine Cellar. We would go to Six Flags for a fun day out then hookah and drinks at Atlantis.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mentor Toni Neal! She really took me under her wing, believed in me, and elevated my career!
