We had the good fortune of connecting with W. Mahogany Ferdinand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi W. Mahogany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to free myself from the rat race of working a regular 9-5. I’ve always been very talented and a business savvy. I quickly realized working hard for some else’s company wasn’t beneficial for me. Watching both parents being entrepreneurs I knew at a young age that one day I will too own my own business. I enjoy helping others and want to build a empire so that I can help more people and give them opportunity. I have a quote I always say “In order to enjoy what you do. You must find your passion and enjoy doing it and the money will follow”. It’s almost like a affirmation for me to remind myself to keep pushing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh I’m the life the party and the plug to the city big facts. Since I’m into entertainment Im always outside out networking and building relationships with business owners. So that’s how I’m plugged in and know what be popping in Atlanta lol. So my best friend in town for a week my itinerary would be something like this.

First we going to Breakfast at Barney’s and have us a nice brunch to fuel up our system. After that we would site scene and check out all the cool places like the Martin Luther King, Jr National Historical Park to pay homage. Then we can go spend a day at Fun Spot American Atlanta. I like the Georgia Aquarium everyone who visits Atlanta wants to visit the aquarium. Oh it’s time for lunch why don’t we try Slutty Vegan I know my friends would enjoy this place. Once we enjoy the day now it’s time for some night life action at some of my favorite lounges and night club. One of my favorite spots to party I would say is Club Revel night club. If my friend is not a club goer the a lay back lounge like Suite Food Lounge which also have a day parties. And Boogalou is another spot the be lit. Now that we got the night life out the way we will need some rest lol. Ok back to some more thrill like going to the gun range for some stress reliever. And we cant forget about the culture especially the most famous Trap Museum it’s a must. More thrill like the escape room, six flags, top gulf, and the selfie museum omg the list goes on. Hanging out with me you’ll definitely need a lot of energy lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special shout to my parents for giving me the gems at a very young age. And I also recommend reading “Rich Dad Poor Dad written by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter.” That book changed my mindset completely.
