We had the good fortune of connecting with Vuntressa Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vuntressa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create something that I I truly love and could call my own, and in doing so, the business needed to be one that makes others feel happy and gives me a sense of accomplishment and reward.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Posh Event Center provides professionally made event decorations perfect for any celebratory event. Besides having the event center, we also offer various rentals for off-site locations, including tables, chairs, linen and other decor items.

I am most proud to have obtained my event center in 2020. The journey hasn’t been easy and a tad bit challenging, but overall, it’s been a very rewarding experience. It’s been hard to balance being that one person that is able to know and perform every job within the business so this is something that I’m still working on the achieve, and hopefully with hiring an assistant, this will remove one of the many hats that I wear.

The learning curves and challenges are a constant revolving door in this industry because changes happen all the time. But what I’ve learned is to take the time to learn each client’s needs and that every customer is not always my client. The second thing that I’m learning to do is to not follow all of the trends and to remain classic with my decor options.

We at the Posh Event Center in Morrow, GA, is dedicated to assisting our clients in creating beautiful events for all occasions. We pride ourselves in great customer service and excellent event planning and management, as our goal is for the client to have stunning event that everyone will rave about. Our job is to make the process easy for the client and to remember the small details so that the client doesn’t have to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would start showing them a really good time by taking them to my most favorite restaurant which is Houston’s. For the remainder of their stay, we would do things like go visit a couple of the art museums, take the Farris-Wheel ride, attend a R&B or hip-hop concert, and then end the week with having some home cooked meals at my house. A fish-fry has to be one of the meals as we would invite over other close friends and family to send my visiting friend back off to where they came from originally.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God, my family, friends, and anyone that has supported my brand and my business from day one. Without these people Posh Events, LLC would not exist today. I am eternally grateful for their love, mentorship, encouragement, field work, and financial backing throughout the years.
