We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivia Barron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vivia, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson is journey has taught me is every failure serves a purpose. To look at each disappointment as a lesson, examine it, take from it what serves, leave the rest behind and keep moving forward.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others: I am a self-taught artist charting my own course outside the line. In the art world I am considered an “Outsider” both in style and journey.

I am where I am today because I knew I had to play a bigger part in the world I exist in, I found my purpose and set off on the journey to play my part.

Was it easy? Yes, and no, it was easy in the sense that I knew my purpose. The journey is hard with bumps I needed to hit to grow as an artist and business owner.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way: The biggest lesson is not to overthink everything. Take each step with the confidence that is preparing you for the next.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story: My credo is, create, share and serve. Every painting, show or exhibition must be of service to others in the end. I work every day with paint and brush to create joy on a canvas to share with other and to also remind to enjoy life’s journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would obviously begin with water.

St Petersburg white sand beach at the Don Cesar for Grouper sandwich

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Tampa weekend reggae band by the Pool

Visit amazing museums in St Petersburg, The Dahli, The James and St. Pete MFA.

Diner at Buona

Live Music at Jannus Landing

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, what a great question, my biggest shout would have to be to my daughter Gabriella Barron, who gave up a lot of home cooked meals for UberEATS over the last 2 years, and most importantly kept me going when I felt exhausted, cant stretch other canvas worn-out, said .. “it’s okay mommy, you can do it”. Her words, her spirit and physical present in my life made this journey possible.
