We had the good fortune of connecting with Vis Uno Maddness and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vis Uno, why did you pursue a creative career?
In life, I believe that each and every person has been appointed a special skill level that enhances the individuality that we possess. We all have talents and abilities, that only God has provided, that should be displayed to positively impact the energy of the world. Since a youth, I’ve always been obsessed with microphones. Humbly, I’ve been blessed with an incredible voice which I consider to be one of my powers. When I talk, ears listen. My voice added to a microphone produces magic. When we don’t even try to use the gifts God gives us, it is a slap in the face to the Almighty! I had to just try and it worked. We are all art!! Art is Freedom!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Raised in Prince Georges County, Maryland and Relocating to Atlanta in 1996, I began establishing relationships with amazing people that I still consider family to this day. At the age of 17 I began hosting on the microphone clubs and parties along side my bro DJ Silver Knight! For years we established ourselves in the city among the elites on the party scene. Really rejuvenating the traditional DJ and MC tandem. Clubs such as Frequency, Havana, Babylon, The Living Room, Primetime and many more! Our chemistry is unmatched and until this day we stand out. Along the way I began touring with my bro Comedian Ronnie Jordan on his nationwide comedy tour. The tour life was a great experience and learning tool. It allowed to see majority of the country and I had the pleasure of seeing it all with someone I consider family, and one of the funniest people on the planet. During this time Ronnie started experimenting with music production and I began to record music. Maddness Muzik. I recorded my first song early at age 14 so it’s something I always had a passion for. Most of the time I would record myself so I learned a lot about the behind the boards process. Song structure, mixing, and arranging were a few of the elements I became familiar with. The music recording became not only fun but therapeutic. The feeling of creating from scratch and being satisfied with the end product definitely builds confidence. I’ve had the pleasure of creating music with many great individuals. A few include super producer Focus…, B-Rock from B-Rock and the Biz and most importantly my Raw Work Family. My bros Enrique Batiste, Tez McClain and the entire Raw Work Gang! We not only had fun, we took care of business when it came to being creatives. These events are just a few of the pivotal moments that have led up to my current ventures. Now I have Dice Shakers Podcast with my bros Boogie Brad and FunnyMan Joey! Dice Shakers represents the day to day of how we move in life. We never know the future so we just shake the dice and let them fly. Whatever the outcome, we roll with it! Once again, just give me a microphone and see what happens! The podcast is everything. We touch on every Avenue in this life journey. Sports, Hip Hop, relationships, joy, pain and everything in between. It can be found on every platform! Apple, Google, Amazon whatever u have, we’re there. The Podcast has expanded into clothing, Dice Shakers Designer! Clean, fresh apparel for all ages. Simple, non trendy fashion in which I let the dice do the work! During my journey I’ve learned you win, you lose but all that matters is the fight. Never quit on what’s in your heart and soul. Everybody can’t go, but everybody isn’t supposed too! Gods plan is the mission and His plan never fails!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The city of Atlanta has everything for everybody. I’ve come to enjoy a cool laid back spot with good music, food and nice women. Places like Blu Cantina, Hippin Hops Brewery, Traffik, any spot spun by DJ Silver Knight and any live event by Ronnie Jordan and the More than Cultr family! Sometimes the mood is turn up and we’re rockin at Central Station, Tongue and Groove or any Gentlemen Club in the city! Whatever the mood, the city will provide.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my Shoutout to my family/team!! Enrique Batiste, Comedian Ronnie Jordan, DJ Silver Knight, Boogie Brad Batiste, FunnyMan Joey, Tez McClain and many, many others. These individuals I consider business partners as well as family. We all spark creativity in one another that allows us to be a special group.
