We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Marcouillier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for BrandWell came to me when I saw this sudden rise in entrepreneurship for women online. It seemed to me as though all of my friends were launching their own business or starting a side-hustle but very few of them knew what it took to show up online professionally. Because of this, they struggled to make sales and eventually the motivation fizzled and their business was no more.

The mission of BrandWell is to help women show up confident online so that they can stand out and sell more. The brands and websites we design for our clients not only help them get more inquiries but they provide a level of confidence that is essential to entrepreneurship.

Our aim is to help women ditch the DIY and give them the confidence that comes with custom.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Something that I believe is so unique to BrandWell is that we still prioritize our clients experience over everything. I think a lot of web design agencies get this wrong. Because we serve a female audience, I have strategically built out an all-female team so that we can better understand and relate to the people that we are serving. There is something to be said about being in a similar season of life as your target audience. For example, I’m a mom to a 3-year-old and 6-month-old and am juggling work and family day in and day out. Many of our clients are also busy moms and because of this, my team and I have designed a seamless process of getting content & feedback from our clients without overwhelming them. Knowing your customer well allows you to deliver a 5-star experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Last year, my entire team got together for a BrandWell retreat at Lake Oconee, about an hour outside the city. We spent our days on the lake and our nights exploring nearby towns like Monroe, where we had an incredible dinner at The Roe followed by shopping at some adorable local boutiques nearby. We loved visiting Lake Oconee and will certainly be back again soon!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my husband, James, who sent me my first paying customer six years ago. That $300 website was the catalyst to the company that you see today. One that serves hundreds of women each year through branding and web design. James not only sent me my first lead, but has also has cheered me on at each successive stage of building BrandWell. Scaling a company and hiring a team is difficult and he’s been my sounding board since day one. Not to mention, we have had two children in the last three years and the only reason BrandWell is still thriving is because of the way James has shared the load with me. I’m incredibly grateful for my husband.
