Meet Victoria Clark | Fashion & Lifestyle Model + Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am originally from Riverdale, Georgia, on the southside of Atlanta. My background and upbringing inspire a lot of what I know how to do and can do today- creative-wise. My parents did not always have the financial means to provide wants for my sister and me, so, in return, we had to figure out how to do many things ourselves, from learning how to do our hair, nails, and makeup to crafting art pieces that we admired but could not afford, creating and altering clothes, painting shoes, etc. This process alone taught me how to be independent, confident, and able to take risks and bounce back; in other words, resilience. So naturally, as I grew into an adult, I have always had different hobbies that I could turn into a career. From singing, drawing, painting, sewing, cooking, event planning, social media management, photography, and modeling, there was always something to keep me on my toes in the creative realm.
I found my love for modeling when I began undergrad in 2017. I took a brief break from modeling due to personal factors; however, I am back and better. I have been modeling for seven years now. I indulge in both print and runway modeling. I am a free agent waiting to audition for the right agency. I am the creative director behind most of my photoshoots, hairstylist, makeup artist, and wardrobe stylist. As an innovator, I am coming for everything I said I would, and only I can hold myself back. I am placing myself in rooms with like-minded individuals and entering those conversations. I am putting myself out there to be discovered. I don’t want a day to come, and I regret not doing so. In 5 years or less, I will not work for anyone but myself. I can think of my parents for that optimism because I watched them overcome every obstacle, knowing they were faced with many factors that could make anyone give up and say forget it, but they didn’t. There are reasons why I won’t give up! I saw them firsthand take whatever trade or skill they knew how to do, make a business out of it, and make money from it. My parents both had struggles that impacted my childhood, but seeing them fight those struggles and come out victorious is what fuels the fire in me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art- creative directing, content creating, and modeling, sets me apart from others simply because many people cannot juggle having to select the right photographer for their shoot, hair, and makeup plus wardrobe and creating and posting the content after everything is said and done is not an easy task to complete; which is why many people book and pay for these services. Becoming a model and putting yourself out there to be identified as one is easy if you have confidence. Confidence is feeling sure of who you are and your capabilities. Confidence can often be confused with arrogance, but it is not. Arrogance is the act of feeling too proud while looking down on others. Confidence will place you in rooms of prominence, surrounded by similar individuals, while arrogance will leave you far behind. It requires confidence to step in front of a camera as a model. Walking down a runway as a model also requires confidence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Little Five Points on the east side of Atlanta. It’s known as “Atlanta’s Hippie Hood, according to Discover Atlanta. In this neighborhood, you can find creatives at work. It’s a great place of scenery for photography. It has many restaurants and retail stores, from Indian and vegan eateries to vintage clothing, art and culture, and nightlife. I would stop at Arden’s Garden for a freshly squeezed juice made from natural fruits and a stop at the Vortex for a quick lunch.
