We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Tyler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victor, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made was leaving my comfortable full-time job just because of a feeling I had. I felt like I wasn’t ready and if I’m being 100% honest I wasn’t, but I had this feeling that it was just time to take myself seriously. At that time, my now business partner and co-founder of Dear, Who Productions, told me to just believe in the vision and put trust in yourself. Now that I think about it, I don’t think he meant quit your job…. but that’s what I felt was the right thing to do for me. Quitting my job gave me the fuel to do something I’ve never been able to do, which is 100% believing in my dream, it gave me the time to sit down and fully put trust in myself that I can do this.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m always excited to get a new project. What excites me is the problem-solving around a specific client. Even if it’s a music video, there is so much that goes into the thinking behind the creative. Like who is this artist, who is the audience, what is the song about, all these things come into play when I sit down and think about the creative for a video. One thing that sets Dear, Who apart is the art aspect of it. We truly think of video as our form of art, furthermore, I studied art and still have an interest in art history.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man, I’d probably try places that are even new to me. It’s always fun to try and visit new places when you have your closest friend and family with you.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My fiance, family, friends, clients, old bosses, everyone I’ve met on this road to entreprenurship I thank you. TRULY couldn’t have gotten to this point without the support and personally believing in me.
