We had the good fortune of connecting with Vickia Rosier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vickia, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from the south side area of Tallahassee, Florida and I attended all the schools that were deemed low class. My upbringing was unique and actually is what qualified me to be the woman I am today. Both my parents were in my life and they instilled certain practices which made me successful. I wouldn’t change my history because it was my most important part of my growth.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a person that enjoys new challenges and taking risk. I went to nursing school with no money in my pocket and no future outlook on how I would survive. God provided a way and reminded me that no matter what I may face, He shall cover me. Nursing school was challenging because my grandmother passed the same day I received my acceptance letter. I fought through and I passed every class and test. I knew it was meant for me and the trials made me want it more.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you know me, you know I am the planner guru. All trips should involve brunch at The Egg. Once brunch is finished, a walk in the park is a must. Later, an activity such as rock climbing or zip lining would be fun. A little relaxation at the spa and night life would involve a nice dinner at Harry’s
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God, My Parents, Sisters, Dominique, Close Friends and my church family.
