We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica harrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process for starting 1025 Entertainment, LLC and the Dope Therapy Podcast was to express my talent and the talent of others in media without limitations. I want to blaze a trail while helping like-minded individuals do the same. 1025 Entertainment is able to present opportunities to artists, writers, and producers who do not want to conform to traditional ways that other companies force them to create.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love what I do. I love hosting the Dope Therapy Podcast and bringing laughter, knowledge, and music to others. We are a family, and with each show, we invite our audience to be a part of our crazy family. Now, how did I get to this point? I am where I am because of the downfalls and inconsistencies I had to overcome while dealing with the radio industry. And, no, it was not easy, but it was worth it. I want the world to know to trust the process, keep the faith, and, most of all, not allow others to make you feel as if you are not intelligent, that you are not talented, and that you are not good enough to achieve your dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were in town for the week, I would take her to South City Kitchen in Midtown for dinner, and we would eat breakfast at the world-renowned Waffle House. Atlanta is full of history, so we would visit M.L.K.’s house, Ebenezer church, and the Apex museum. Of course, we would hit the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke. And for a bit of hip-hop fun, we would visit the Trap House. Since we love shopping, Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza will be on our list, as well as the Mall of Georgia and Avalon in Alpharetta. I work for W.S.B. radio/WSBTV and Kiss 104.1, so we would visit their studios. And to wrap up the visit, we would have dinner at the Optimist in Midtown. And on the way to the airport, we have breakfast at one of my favorite new spots, Breakfast at Barneys.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Jaylun, deserves all of the credit. He has been by my side during this process and helped me through the ups and downs of life and running a business. Also, there would not be a Dope Therapy podcast without my Dope Therapy family, Stephanie Dawn, Kevin Pressley, and Mike Gray. And my family in Detroit, including my sisters Sherria Johnson and Kelly Celeskey, are also my rock.
