Meet Veronica Cooper | Music Artist, Songwriter, & Co-Founder of GldnChldBeauty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Let me tell you something real about risks. They ain’t just a part of the game; they’re the fuel that ignites our dreams. See, I may not fit into the mold of what people expect from a female rapper. Las Vegas born and definitely not born with the golden ticket, and my look? Well, let’s just say it’s as unique as my flow.
But you know what? That’s my power. Every challenge I’ve faced, every eyebrow raised at my unconventional path, it’s only fueled my fire to push harder, reach higher, and spit words that resonate with every heart that hears them.
Taking risks? It’s been my anthem, my battle cry, and my guiding star. It’s led me to stages I never thought I’d touch, connected me with souls across the globe, and allowed me to share my truth in a world that often prefers silence from women who look like me.
Sure, there have been stumbles along the way, moments where fear tried to dim my shine. But I refuse to let fear dictate my destiny. Because every risk I’ve taken has brought me closer to my dreams, proving that the only limits that exist are the ones we impose on ourselves.
So to all my fellow dream chasers out there, especially those who don’t fit the mold: Embrace your uniqueness, let your voice be heard, and never shy away from the risks that’ll lead you to your greatness. Because when you dare to defy expectations, that’s when the world truly listens.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This journey of mine has been a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions! What started as a fun hobby with a few friends ended up flipping my entire career path on its head. And let me tell you, it’s been one fun yet stressful adventure!
I won’t sugarcoat it – this road I’m on? It’s paved with challenges and obstacles that could make even the toughest folks break a sweat. Putting your heart and soul into your music and then tossing it out there for the world to dissect; Is not a task for the faint of heart. It takes guts, grit, and a whole lotta self-belief.
But amidst all the nerve-wracking moments and sleepless nights, there’ve been some seriously sweet victories. I’m talking rocking stages alongside some of my idols, laying down reference tracks for chart-topper artists, and soaking up wisdom from the legends of the music biz. It’s like living in a dream, I swear!
Sure, there’ve been doubters along the way, folks trying to mold me into something I’m not. But you know what? I’ve learned to tune out the noise and stay true to myself, no matter what. Because at the end of the day, my music speaks to those who are meant to vibe with it. And that, my friends, is where the magic happens
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I moved to Atlanta in the winter of 2020 and in just this short amount of time, I have found some gems. For food we are going to Papis (Cuban) over on Ponce, Kemper’s Cafe (Caribbean) over on Metropolitan, Kuri revolving sushi bar and Oh Kdogs on Buford Hwy.
We are dancing the whole night away at MJQ and for a more laid-back vibe grabbing drinks in Hop City.
I love the aquarium here it is a must and my favorite thing of all is looking at the stars and planets over at Fernbank Science Center.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First up, let’s show some love to the OG, the MVP of my life – my mom! This lady right here? She’s been my ride-or-die since day one, always hyping me up to dream bigger and reach for the stars. Mom, you’re the real MVP!
Next, big ups to my main man Devon Brabham, AKA my manager extraordinaire. This dude took a chance on me, not just as a client but as a friend, and he’s been cracking the whip to get my music game back on track. Devon, you’re a legend!
And hey, where would I be without all my amazing fans, supporters, and listeners? Seriously, y’all are the ones who keep me going when self-doubt starts creeping in. Your love and belief in my craft mean the world to me, and I promise to keep bringing the fire just for you.
So here’s to moms, to mentors, and to all you incredible souls out there who make this crazy journey worth it.
