We had the good fortune of connecting with Vashia F and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vashia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Often times as individuals, we are content with our usual way of life, afraid of the unknown. I view risks as thinking outside of the box. Nothing in life will ever happen perfectly. It’s better to be comfortable being uncomfortable. During those times is when you will find your strength as you push through any obstacles that you may face. Having this mindset towards risk has allowed me to go outside of my comfort zone to access places, things, thoughts and ideas that I wouldn’t have been able to if I let the thoughts of risk stop my progression in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I decided to start my business because I often forgot to do little things for myself while navigating through life. I was working a full-time job and also going to school full-time and I found myself very tense and sometimes unpleasant. I didn’t take the time to appreciate myself and the steps I was taking to accomplish the goals I had set for myself. It’s very easy to not take care of yourself when there is so much going on. I launched my business because we all need to take time to comfort and pamper ourselves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop would be the Georgia Aquarium, it brings out the kid in anyone and sets the tone of serenity and peacefulness. We would visit Slutty Vegan, Mary Mac’s and Ponce City Market for food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother has always been supportive of everything that I do even when she thought it was a bad idea, she stood beside me with no questions asked. I appreciate the life lessons that she provided as well as the ones she allowed me to go through on my own to become a well rounded individual. It is imperative to always have a support person in your life and for me that is my mother!
