We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Uribe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I like to help and not put limits on my dreams. Since I arrived in the United States I realized that the Hispanic community is very large, so through “Atlanta Habla Español” my goal is to help, transmitting positive and interesting information to the entire community. Plus, being able to be me again! and do what I like. I am a professional in the area of social communication, and I am passionate about this.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am proud to be Hispanic, I love Spanish and I am grateful that despite being in the United States my language has opened doors for me. I got to where I am by believing in myself, I still have a long way to go. It is not easy to risk creating a project in another country and a language that is not the main one. I want everyone to know that dreams are achieved if we believe 100% in them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I have to say that it would be wonderful. We would walk through Piedmont Park, get our feet wet at Roswell mill waterfall, have a drink in downtown Alpharetta, visit the aquarium and of course! the world of Cocacola, it would be my favorite stop because for me, Atlanta is synonymous with Cocacola and Cocacola is synonymous with happiness.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, my daughter is the little person who motivated me to start, she was only one year old and through what I would call “a sign” she made me start the project. My husband, my parents, sister, nephews, friends and family, I am very grateful to have a beautiful circle that supports me. There are really many. Atlanta and God have given me wonderful people.
