Meet Valencia Jenkins | Esthetician, Certified Herbalist, Published Author and Spa Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Valencia Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valencia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After what I thought was the end of my life, I had to regroup and think fast. Bills were piling up and I needed to focus on what I already knew, so I thought. I needed to figure out what my passion was exactly. What was it that I loved to do? Did I want to go to school to learn more even more than what I already know? Was I too old to even attend school? I had two young girls looking up to me for everyday answers. I couldn’t let them down.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I actually own 5 different business entities. What sets them apart is everything they do. 1. Crown Mae Spa & Salon is my Holistic Wellness Spa where we offer; Body Waxing, V-Steams, Foot Detox, Massages, Makeup Applications, Body Sculpting, Lip Fillers and Fat Dissolving.

2. Protect Herr Body Essentials; my Holistic products such as soaps, Body washes, Yon-Ee Wash, V-steams, Sage, Crystal’s, Herbal Teas that help increase libido, vaginal dryness, shrink fibroid and much more.

3. Thicc’d By Vee:
Postoperative Treatments, Detoxification, Waist Trainers, Fahja’s, slim cream, BBl Gummies and Cream to help increase volume.

4. Poetic Love N Grace;
My writing business as a published author on my first poetry book called: A Poetic Journee.

5. Patchez N Apparel Boutique
Where we sell Women’s Clothing & Accessories.

You asked how are we different:

All these Businesses are located inside of our Spa. You walk right into Greatness from the moment you enter into the Building!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely eat some fried apples @ Sweet Thangz in Decatur, Georgia. Most definitely get some shrimp and grits from Louisiana Bistreaux. We’d stop by Nouveau in Jonesboro they have a great atmosphere/ vibe there. Another great place to visit would be All in Onw Sports Bar & Grill in Morrow, Georgia. I would definitely recommend all these Black Owned Businesses!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shutout to my Mom for never judging me or turning her back on me. Also to my girls who always believed in their mom. I want to thank my partner the best Beauty Strategist around Larry Davis for always having my back and giving the advice I truly needed to hear!
