Meet Valencia Bowie | Graphic Designer & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Valencia Bowie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valencia, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
In the beginning of my graphic design journey, my goal was simple: get as many clients as I could, always stay on the go, and never leave money on the table. At 24, I was in full grind mode, pushing myself to the max to build my business. I worked nonstop, seven days a week, all day, every day.
Now, at 28, my approach has shifted. I’m still driven and in grind mode, but it’s not the same as it used to be. While I still have a lot of goals to achieve and milestones to reach, I’ve worked hard enough to give myself some breathing room. Over time, my wants and needs have evolved, and so has my work-life balance.
I’ve transitioned from working seven days a week to sticking to a structured schedule, designing only Tuesday through Friday. I’ve gone from not wanting kids to now envisioning a family of my own. I’ve stopped letting time pass me by and started traveling more, embracing the freedom to work from anywhere with my laptop in tow.
And last but not least—love. While my business remains a top priority, I’m also a self-proclaimed lover girl at heart. I’ve learned how to balance my work life and my personal life, and I’m proud of the harmony I’ve created between the two.
This evolution has taught me that success isn’t just about the grind; it’s about building a life that reflects both your ambitions and your personal values.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My graphic design journey has been pretty smooth, probably because I focus on digital products instead of physical ones. The biggest thing I’ve invested? My time, not my money.
Of course, it hasn’t been without challenges—like handling tough clients or owning up to mistakes. But every experience has taught me to stay professional, apologize when needed, and keep it moving.
What I’m really known for? Being a creative director at heart. I love documenting behind-the-scenes moments with my clients, planning campaigns from A to Z, and creating unique, out-of-the-box ideas that align perfectly with their brands.
Beyond flyers, websites, and logos, I offer printing services, LED signs, and even graphic design eBooks to help other designers grow. My goal? To be a one-stop shop and always deliver bold, unforgettable results that set my clients apart.
If you’re looking for creativity with a twist, that’s where I shine.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love visiting Atlanta—it’s always a vibe! If my friend and I were in town for the weekend, our first stop would definitely be Toast on Lenox. Their entire menu is amazing, and the food is always on point. Some of my other go-to food spots include Hungry AF, JJ Fish & Chicken, Hattie B’s, Roc South Cafe, Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar, Shake Shack (a must), and Fade & Facet.
When it comes to nightlife and fun activities, Atlanta never disappoints. I love hitting up Boogalou, Sheba Lounge, Taranga City, The Vault, or relaxing at a hookah house. For something different, I recommend Beat the Bomb, the Balloon Museum, ATV riding, and just soaking in the city’s unique energy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In the Words of Latto: This Shoutout for Me!
The biggest. For never giving up on myself. For being a true dreamer. For going after everything I wanted. For never letting people discourage me from trying new things. For becoming the woman, I always knew I could be.
