We had the good fortune of connecting with Unique Period and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Unique, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The major risk I took was to JUMP! I was actually on bed rest when God told me to quit my job. I’m like and do what graphics?? No way!!! I took the leap and listened. On bed rest my business was built and has been running amazingly every since. I’ve been blessed to work with so many amazing businesses and people. From your every day startups to celebrities. It has truly been an amazing journey!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am Unique Period. I am one of the most sought after graphic designers due to my creative work for brands like The Bestie Gang, The Crayon Case and Kaleidoscope Hair Products. I got to where I am really through God. I was doing work for different celebs and reality stars the God placed me in the presence of a dope businessman named Donovan Weatherspoon. Working with him opened up the New Orleans. He was working with Jesseca (DaRealBBJudy) Dupart and we started working together then that opened up the door to Raynell (Supa) Steward. Together we were able to create things people couldn’t even stop from being successful and I started doing the same thing for Bestie Gang. I’ve worked with so many brands it’s really hard to name but I know people automatically associate me with these specific ones because of the creativity that they allowed me to release. Nothing was easy but staying faith-FULL has kept me. It was all worth. What the world needs to about me and my brand is if you want creative it’s UNIQUE PERIOD. If you want what is undeniable you have to come to UNIQUE PERIOD. Your vision meets my execution and it’s only UP from here!!! It’s lit over here and I got you! Your business is your baby but I’m going to always provide the diapers and wipes because I have to believe in your vision before we even can work together. We take things serious over here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to all the spots I go to. Im a  Foodie so I like trying different spots all the time so: The Bando, Tastebuddz, Lil Peach Cobbler Soulfood Cafe (Morrow), BnB Soulfood (McDonough), Dat Fire Jerk Kitchen,  Pappadeaux is always a fav

For a real ATL vibe you have to hit the trap museum, do the trap museum escape room then head to the bando for your food and the crvxk house for the candied fruit

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my shoutout to my grandmother, Tresia Cook. The things she instilled in me in every aspect is the reason I am who I am today. Without her prayers and constant reminders to focus on God, say my affirmations, declare psalms 91 over my life and work the blood of Jesus. I have been able to create the life some wish they could have the courage to live. She made sure I knew early you could have whatever you want if you just believe. As Pastor Mike Todd would say “it’s only crazy until it happens.” Faith is everything!!
