We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyrone Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyrone, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly my thought process was to create something that can change and influence people in the Atlanta area. My company is called STICK Life and STICK stands for Spirit To Innovate & Create Knowledge. So the whole purpose of my company is to change our image as a community and give opportunities to the people to change their perspective of life and learn more about the financial world we live in and I want to do it all through media, picture that!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, my business is still going in the trial and error phase so to speak. I’ve honestly learned through this process, in the field that I’m in, your network is your net worth and everybody can not come and most will not see your vision. I had to to learn that in order to be a successful CEO you have to embrace your weaknesses and outsource because there is not one man that can do everything. The biggest lesson of them all that I learned is to remain humble and attack every opportunity as it presents itself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s so many new restaurants in the city that we would for sure pick a new one every day. Would most definitely take them to our comedy clubs for sure. If it’s one of my lady friends, I would love to take her to a sip and paint event follow by a live jazz bar. My male friends well I’m in Atlanta so pick a strip club my friend and get the full experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother, god rest her soul, she always shared my vision in entrepreneurship. Of course my father, he has always been supportive of everything that I decided to do. My big brother Duffy has always been my mentor through life and gave me gems that I needed as a man even if I wasn’t ready for them also he is in the position that I desire to be and he has no problems mentoring me along my journey.
