Meet Tyniece Cummings: Business Educator & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyniece Cummings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyniece, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been in education for 7 years specializing in business education. During my 7th year I had an epiphany. “All these years of teaching business and zero years of implementing what I teach.” I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit I just never pushed it the way I am today. A year ago I challenged myself alongside with my students in a school project “creating your own business” I made a commitment that I would never teach something I haven’t experienced. After just a year I stand in the middle of success. There’s so many more thoughts and factors that went behind starting my own business but this was the beginning process. 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Studio 12welve is an interior design company and subsidiary of TMC Properties LLC. We provide quality-conscious clients with design choices for their primary residences, vacation homes, and businesses. Our goal is to create an impression of the home that is upscale and contemporary, using a variety of palettes and designs to be attractive and inviting to a wide range of buyers. We have grown our business through creating beautiful home environments and providing excellent service working with realtors and owners. With minor aesthetic tweaks and staging, you can create a real point of difference in your specific market to enhance your property’s value. The total experience is provided in a way to inform, inspire, and assist people through the process of transforming their home or business environment. A unique and personalized expression of each home to add enjoyment of that interior and outdoor space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever friends or family come to visit we enjoy some of the best spots Atlanta offers. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I first like to shoutout most high for creating and instilling the talent I thought I never had in me decades before I knew it was talent. I then like to shoutout my boyfriend for seeing my potential and continually challenging me to seek my passion in life. Our son that gives me purpose behind in all I’m doing. A special shoutout to my mom! She holds me down in all things that surround me and there for me even no one else shows up. My best-friend that believes in all I do and supports me while speaking life into me daily. I shoutout my village entirely! My success doesn’t come from just a few people. My village of family, friends Colleagues etc is made up with all sorts of individuals that are apart of my life. Therefore, I shoutout everyone that has a connection to me because in some way that played a part in this journey and for that I’m thankful.
