We had the good fortune of connecting with Tylis Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tylis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was driven by a passion for storytelling and a desire to help people effectively convey their narratives. I wanted to empower individuals and organizations to connect directly and meaningfully with their audiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey has been driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to helping others communicate their messages effectively. What sets me apart is my diverse experience and dedication to excellence in every role I undertake.

Starting as a camera operator at River of Life Church in 2008 and later being appointed Media Director in 2012, I gained a solid foundation in media management, social media, and AV content production. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability and the value of hands-on learning.

Professionally, I advanced from being a Newscast Director at WDEF-TV News 12 Now to a Production Supervisor at WTVC-TV Newschannel 9. In these roles, I honed my skills in newscast directing, booth production, editing, and live streaming. Leading creative services and production teams, I learned the importance of collaboration and leadership, managing complex projects under tight deadlines.

Freelance work further diversified my expertise, allowing me to assist various clients, including businesses, non-profits, and churches, with videography, live streaming, web management, and social media. Each project has been an opportunity to refine my skills and make meaningful contributions to my clients’ success.

The journey hasn’t been easy. Balancing multiple responsibilities and staying updated with evolving technologies were significant challenges. I overcame them by embracing continuous learning, seeking mentorship, and maintaining a solution-oriented mindset. Working as a poll worker since 2016 also instilled in me a sense of civic duty and attention to detail.

Key lessons I’ve learned include the importance of resilience, the value of a supportive network, and the power of storytelling. I’m most proud of the impact my work has had on my community and the positive feedback from those I’ve helped.

My brand is about more than just producing content—it’s about connecting people, telling compelling stories, and making a difference. I want the world to know that behind every video, livestream, or social media post, there’s a dedication to quality, creativity, and genuine passion.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has blessed me with the abilities and skills I have. My church and church family at River of Life have been instrumental, providing a unique space and opportunities that helped me discover my passion for video production. I’m also grateful to the teachers and staff at Ridgeland High School, who supported my growth and development.

Special thanks to my mentors, Tuck Watts, Kenneth Phinazee, David Moore, Jeff Seay, and many others, for their constant support and encouragement. I also want to thank my friends and family for their unwavering support, especially my mom, my pastors Alan & Terri Crider, Desireé Seay, Greg Funderburg, Charles Eaton, Jayce Lewis, Tyler Broome, William Harrison, Dakota Casteel, Tony Skrobo, Avery Parrott, Justin Brickler, Kenan Daniels, Jeigh Billingy, and many others who have been part of my journey.”
