We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Okito and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyler, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Definitely being consistent. No matter the speed if you can consistently learn and get better in any field I feel you will be successful. Initially my brand wasn’t much outside of a few tshirts but I knew I wanted more and everyday I was focused on making better pieces and growing the brand and the business. Now I’m starting to see results from my work and it just makes me want to go harder and build my brand into something I never thought it could be.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Clarity Studios is my art at the moment although I see myself branching out into other mediums. I’m very excited for these next few pieces I’m dropping it’s definitely a pivot into more quality work and vision. Consistency and just my ability to apply things I observe to my own situation in a way that would only work for me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to little 5 for sure, peters street station, the high, and a few other spots I have to keep secret.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a lot to my family honestly. Especially my parents and god-parents. I feel like I’ve always done things my way even as a child but they were great examples of hard work, integrity, and overall great character. My whole life they tried to instill these things in me but also protected and guided me and for that I’m forever grateful.
