We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Okito and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, why did you pursue a creative career?
It honestly just happened organically. I always had interest in fashion and design but never viewed it as a career path. Prior to the pandemic I still had hoop dreams but during the lockdown I started to explore my creative talents. Seeing the different vibes I could bring to life, the different mediums of creation I was naturally familiar with, it all showed me that this was a viable option for me. It showed me that I actually had something to bring to this industry and to the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is my brand at the moment. Clarity Studios. I’ve been growing this label for 2 years now. I like to think of it as minimalist in design with a powerful message of having a vision for your life. Outside of that I don’t like explaining the art, whatever the medium I think interpretation should be left to each individual consumer. I want the world to know that the best has yet to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to lil 5. There’s a lot to do there. It’s a very artistic area with a broad range of stores for different interests.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
@capturedbycasso definitely. I would say she was a catalyst to what I do now. She inspired me to take the creative lane serous. Outside of that she has always been there for me and always had my best interest at heart. I also owe a lot to my mother and father. They pushed me to be the best but also gave me the space to learn on my own. I’m forever grateful for the things they’ve done for me and the support they’ve shown to all of my endeavors.
