Meet Twanna Smith | Owner of Glam Eyelash & Brow Bar Salon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Twanna Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Twanna, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The habits that I feel has helped me succeed in my career are being reliable and being consistency. I find these two characteristics are extremely important to clients in order for them to become loyal customers.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Glam Eyelash and Brow Bar Salon, is a full service lash and brow salon. What sets Glam Salon apart from others is the services offered. Glam’s menu services are lash strips, individuals, lash extensions, waxing and micro shading. Plus add on services. During the course of my career, I was able to gather a collective selection of products to help clients maintain their lashes. So putting together my very own product line to do so, would be my most proudest accomplishment in the last six months.
My start, business wise came about when I was promoted to a store manager at the age of 19. Looking back then, I would have never thought to be running my own business today. That opportunity as well as other management positions lead me towards one day of running my own business. Running my own business, I can say hasn’t been easy but worth it in the end. Once you’re able to overcome the obstacles and challenges of (anything can happen) it prepares you for the long haul. But the one most valuable lesson I’ve learned through the years is to not put all your eggs in one basket!
What I would like for everyone, especially lash artists to know about my story is: Follow your dreams, do it with passion, continue to work hard, be consistent and never compete with anyone but yourself. Once you learn your lane, entrepreneurship can become your dream!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week here’s the itinerary I would put together for her to enjoy: Day One, Lenox Mall followed with reservations at Nobu now that they’re here in Atlanta,
Day Two, we’ll stay local for taco Tuesday at Oaxaca Tacos and Tequila Bar they have the best margaritas,
Day three, more of a chill vibe at Humidor Cigar Bar & Lounge,
Day four, Perimeter Mall followed by happy hour at Fin & Feathers
Day five, Friday at High Museum of Art for jazz night.
There’s so much to do here in Atlanta! But these are more of a chill and not out all night partying type of vibe.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout too, my mother and two daughters. Without them standing beside me through thick and thin and encouraging me each and everyday. None of this would be possible!
