We had the good fortune of connecting with Troi Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Troi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My initial thoughts behind starting my own business was that I wanted to be the 1st in my family to do so. I wanted to break generational curses before it was even a trend to do so. I knew I was going to change the trajectory of my life and my child’s life.

What should our readers know about your business?
LUX Capital INC. is a mecca of wealth building tools and strategies. We offer credit restoration, life insurance, business credit building, we help our clients with business formation and how to build business credit. We have a Real Estate Investors Network for anyone who is looking to become a real estate investor. Right now we have a team of 4 successful Women Investors.

I’m most excited about being able to help my community simply by being a source of information and being able to get people what they need.

I am where I am today because I made the mistakes when I started my very first business. To recover from the mistakes I spent lots of time studying and attending free seminars, taking courses, and I invested in mentorship.
Running a business is tough because in the beginning stages you have to do it all on your own especially if you don’t have any examples to follow. The hardest part has been breaking the years and years of mental conditioning. I had to get out of my own way. Thank goodness for therapists and having a great network of leaders and entrepreneurs that I now seek advice from and that hold me accountable to my goals.

There are many lessons, it’s important to believe in yourself and to be around people who believe in you and hold you accountable. Lastly, DO IT SCARED!

I created my brand to help single moms, I am a beauty, fitness, and finance professional. “Your BFF” Troi Hawkins is a brand that encourages women to live Beautiful, Financially Fit lives. I believe a woman needs all three of these to succeed in her endeavors. If she feels beautiful and fit she can show up for herself daily. Throw in the finances and she’s ready to conquer the world. I am a single mom who suffered from post-partum and I used fitness to heal myself from a lot of trauma. I used Beauti as a tool to show up for myself and I knew that my higher self
is definitely wealthy and abundant. My brand inspires women to choose themselves first, and then they can get to helping the world around them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are definitely getting a City Pass so we can do all the touristy things like:

Georgia Zoo (Monday)
Have a small picnic in Piedmont Park (Tuesday Afternoon)
Visit the Aquarium (Wednesday)
Shrimp and grits from Poach Social on Ormond St. and shopping at Lenox Square (Thursday)
Thrift shopping at Buckhead Thriftique, Good Will, or Out of the Closet -grab some drinks afterwards at LIttle Spirit (Friday)
Roll ATL to purchase a pair of skates to stunt at Cascade (Saturday)
Buckhead Grand Spa (Sunday)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Napolean Hill’s The Laws of Success has a huge influence on me. I found his book on an infomercial one night. Super weird. I was 12 years old and I sat up and watched that infomercial for hrs. I never went and got the book. Years later as an adult, my roommates dad came to visit and he gave us both copies of the book. He was impressed that I knew all about it. I’d like to Shout out my mentor Dorian Rawlinson as well. He is constantly showing me ways to walk in my power by helping me unlearn all the things that society taught me.
