We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Hewling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trinity, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In my experience, risks are beautiful. There’s always that worry of the possibility of something going totally left but at the same time there’s that voice telling you “just do it.” I love that. It’s like the soul speaking. If the risk you take ends up falling through, you almost always gain wisdom for a new approach or a completely new perspective. Either way, in the end you’ll be standing in the right direction.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a self taught wig maker and hair stylist. I think what sets me apart from others is that what I have is raw talent and such high potential. I didn’t take a class, or grow up with sisters to show me how to do anything, it just comes to me easy and I’m only in the beginning stages. I am definitely excited for what’s to come, I feel like I am finally falling in love with consistency. Im finally starting to actually see my goals instead of just trying to find the next “get rich quick” plan. I got where I am today by so much trial and error and it was not easy at all! Being a perfectionist starting a business was definitely a challenge because if I wasn’t good at something right away I’d just quit and assume it’s not for me. I had to learn that way of thinking is so detrimental. Raising my daughter has definitely taught me that you’re not going to get everything right the first time and it’s okay. These past few years have been challenging transitioning into adulthood but so rewarding because of all that I’ve learned. Im ready to put all that into my brand and share my creativity with my beautiful clients and eventually the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First thing we gotta do is eat! There’s some great food spots here in the city. I love The Works food hall. There’s also a lot of hidden gems like this amazing buffet on Buford Hwy. Bike riding in the city is also a must. Lastly, you gotta hit up at least one strip club while you’re in Atlanta! That’s always fun and the food is a plus!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my mom, Nicole. After deciding not to go to college and just trying to figure out this life stuff my own way, she’s always been right there patiently supporting me. She’s never judged me for my choices and always taught me to just “do me.” As a child, my mom always acted in her own volition, not letting any outside voice change her mind and she inspired me to do the same.
