We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinette L. Collier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trinette, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Los Angeles, California but being a military kid, that experience afforded me the opportunities to live in many places. My background and upbringing was very routine and normal. Raised in a two parent home, my Mother was a stay at home Mom so she trained us on how to care for home life such as cooking, cleaning, taking care of each other, etc…My Dad taught us the basics of outside life such as the power of the dollar, car maintenance, etc… However, together, they taught us the meaning of entrepreneurship and what it took to work for self. My siblings and I watched our parents create a company, build it from ground up, grow and maintain it. They also showed us the sacrifices that you must make as an entrepreneur. This prepared me for this journey!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career as an elementary educator was the catalyst for becoming a certified relationship stylist aka coach. Being a teacher allowed me to extend myself as someone who loved to listen and help others when needed. I was learning to build relationships not only with my students but with my colleagues. However, it was a bit challenging because as an educator, you are only known as a teacher and nothing else. So, it was hard to embrace what I really wanted to do, even though I had the support and constant encouragement from my team. As time went on, I started to gravitate more to the field of Coaching and it ignited the passion. I knew what I wanted to do…again! I would still be able to teach but in a different arena. I’ve learned many lessons and still learning! One major lesson that I struggled to learn was to listen to my heart and flow with it. I was so determined to continue teaching in the classroom that I almost missed my new calling of coaching. I allowed fear to stifle me and not go after my vision. The vision was planted but I didn’t water and nurture it due to fear. So once I accepted my vision and allowed myself to feel the passion of what I wanted to do next in life, doors began to open! I want the world to know that TLC, LLC is a brand that is passionate about building healthy relationships to bring forth peace, love and unity.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
This is a tough one! The City of Atlanta is FULL of exciting ventures! I am a foodie so I love exploring new restuarants and such. I would start with a good breakfast spot such as Rosie’s Cafe in the downtown area of Atlanta then maybe head to Wings On Wheat in Jonesboro area and then off to the local boutiques or the mall. Depending on what my friends would want to do, we may just take a tour of the city and then explore the nightlife with the local comedy clubs and visit historic Auburn Ave. Of course, we would have eaten at about 3 more local restuarants!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family SHOUT OUTS: I would have to SHOUT Out my ENTIRE family…The Colliers, Robinsons and Greenes. The FabFive…The FabFive are my brothers and sister. They’ve supported me from day one along with my niece and nephew. They endured my long nights of working and reading stories to them! I have to SHOUT OUT my Handsome Hunnie aka Husband, Chef Greene. He has continued to push me and supports me even when my ideas seems crazy! My church, StrongTower Christian Life Ministries in Stone Mountain, Ga. I’m beyond blessed to have phenomenal and supportive extended family and friends that have been with me on this journey!
