We had the good fortune of connecting with Trela Peters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trela, how do you think about risk?
This is a tough question. Since I started my business I have taken a risk. I say that because I’ve never had an entrepreneur in my circle at the time. So to start a business with no direction is a risk alone then to be full time in your business is another risk. You can no longer guarantee income at the beginning and things you may need such as cash flow, credit, inventory isn’t always available to help you succeed. All of those things that weren’t readily available when I started my business made me go harder in my passion. Allowed me to make it my reality if living the life I want to live.

What should our readers know about your business?
Peace and blessings to my readers, my name is Trela Peters I am a wellness coach and a birth doula. I am world wide but I have a physical store front located in Greenville Sc. I offer mind, body and soul tools and herbal medicine to assist my clients in living their healthiest version of themselves. I empower my clients to make healthier lifestyle choices rather it’s to quit eating takeout or it’s to move away from western medicine it’s based off their version of healthy. I offer wellness coaching , herbal medicine and meditation for all ages. I have taken it a step further by assisting families throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery to choose permanent health over temporary fixes.

What sets me apart is this isn’t a one sided relationship with my clients. I listen, I over-stand, and I equip my clients with tools and resources to make the healthiest option for themselves and their families.

By far is hasn’t been easy but it’s been so worth it. Everyday I go into my shop and I think of how I can help empower our communities to want to heal themselves. When I’m faced with challenges I go back to my why and get pumped up about it because everyday I can change something but I can’t sit around and change nothing and expect great results if failure is occurring.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We going to a rooftop that got the best mimosas because I love mimosas and brunch but no meat please. Then we going to the thrift store to find a fit for the evening time.
After that we can hit the lake front area to relax before the evening and then go home get dressed to hit a hookah lounge or speak easy place.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My support system for sure, my mom and my sisters they have always poured into me. They don’t allow “ I can’t “ for an answer. They like me to show them my passion so when I’m down they know how to get me back up. They are part of the reason I cannot stop.

My husband Demoshio Peters although he didnt see the vision clearly. He truly is business savvy so he helps me with risks and reward. He helps me by ensuring my stress level is down so I can operate in my passion.

Lastly, Tonia Crowe, she had been very pivotal in my last 7 months because she came back into my life and forced me to start running things more like a business. Certain procedures she has equipped my business with and tools for me to succeed. She has had me at pop up shops I would’ve never thought about. She also is helping me to scale which is transformational alone.
