Meet Treasure Crocker | Founder/CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Treasure Crocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Treasure, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The first thing that comes to mind is my belief in myself and Pawstries. While believing in yourself and your craft is important regardless of the industry, surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs and business professionals, especially those in the pet industry has contributed to my success immensely. Forming and cultivating a community of like-minded individuals or those who can relate to the ebb and flow of my chosen path has given me the confidence in certain areas of my life that I never knew I needed, thus I’ve been able to make decisions in life and business that has ultimately affected my company for the better. The life of an entrepreneur isn’t always the easiest and feelings of loneliness and even doubt are inevitable at some point. Still, I’m a part of a community, several actually, that’s able to empathize with my journey and we all motivate and help each other to do the best we can; not only is that important but it’s a privilege I believe everyone should have.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pawstries began in 2018 with a simple goal: to create all-natural, gluten-free treats that pets can enjoy without worry. The inspiration came from my eldest dog, Chase, who had a severe allergic reaction to store-bought treats. This incident highlighted the need for healthier and safer pet options, especially those with dietary sensitivities. Pawstries is a vet tech and dog mom-owned and operated company that has been the furthest thing from “easy” but is also very rewarding. I overcome challenges all the time but the beauty of lessons and growth is that I’m able to handle the challenges more effectively when it arises. Learning how to accept situations as they are and learning how to pivot is very crucial. I want the world to know that every pet, dog and/or cat, deserves to have a treat that’s healthy and delicious and their pet parent can be at ease knowing that they trust Pawstries. Our passion for animals fuels everything we do and what began as a simple desire to provide my own pets with the best possible treats has blossomed into a commitment to spreading joy and well-being to pets and their owners everywhere.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m actually a transplant haha so this question is a bit tricky. I need someone to show me the best time ever, that way I’m able to pass along the experience to another who may be in my shoes. I expanded Pawstries from Michigan to Georgia in September of 2023 and I have yet to properly explore what Atlanta and Georgia have to offer. I enjoy good food, music, outdoor activities, art, or any adventure or experience where I can partake alone or have my favorite people with me. So, if anyone reading this has any suggestions on what to do or where to go, I’m open to receiving the information, please, and thank you.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to thank all of my pawsome customers first and foremost. Pawstries would not be the company that it is today without the support of all the pet parents, pet lovers, and furry companions who support us. I also have to thank all of the partnerships I’ve formed over the years, they all have helped my company expand its brand reach and recognition and I’m forever grateful to them for the opportunities they’ve given me. I also have to shout out the publication opportunities I’ve received, one of them being from Voyage Atlanta, so thank you all for that as well. Last but not least, I must thank anyone who has truly supported me in any way while on this journey. I am forever grateful for all of the support.
