We had the good fortune of connecting with Travicia Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travicia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always held a passion for helping and assisting others; however, I wasn’t too fond of being placed in a box. My vision of being a resource for my community wouldn’t do me any justice sitting behind someone else’s desk. It was only a matter of time before I turned my passion into purpose. My purpose has always been and still is serving the underserved, the unemployed, and the disabled. Birthing BNZ Healthcare and Training Center allows me to do this and more in my own way.

What should our readers know about your business?
BNZ Healthcare & Training Center has had many names and specialties over the years. I originally began this journey as an Insurance Agency, then later obtained my State Accreditation as an Alabama Insurance Training School. It was just something about the insurance industry that made my heart smile. It was at Shiron Kilgore State Farm, that I learned the art of helping my community through Education. The most important part of your job is to educate your customer on the importance of knowing your options. And If you knew me, then you knew I could talk Insurance all day! It was at that Office that I discovered my gift of assisting others through teaching! After obtaining my State Accreditation as an Insurance Training School…..COVID HAPPENED!

Everything was at a complete standstill, which allowed the world to have a front row seat on just how important the Healthcare Industry is; to not only the local communities, but the WORLD! I knew I had to do my part. I couldn’t stay home knowing I could help make a difference in the midst of a Pandemic. I re-branded my company & took my passion for educating the community & began offering CPR Certifications to healthcare professionals. This was the beginning of BNZ Healthcare & Training Center!

At this time, BNZ Healthcare & Training Center offers Non-Medical Home Care Services in Huntsville, Alabama, Free COVID-19 testing, 14-Panel Drug testing services, & CPR Certifications in Marietta, Ga & surrounding areas. We are constantly growing and adding services to better serve our community. We will soon add Home Care services in Georgia, assisting; Cobb, Newton, & Rockdale County.

Fan Fact: We are Accredited by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) & Cobb County Chamber of Commerce!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my goodness, listen Atlanta isn’t Atlanta without Wings! If you love Soul Food, Gigi’s Place Soul Food on Salem Rd in Covington is an absolute MUST. There’s a lot of great attractions here based on your interests; The new Atlanta Braves Stadium in Cobb County, The historic Stone Mountain Park if you dare to hike up the mountain, Piedmont & Centennial Parks downtown for a relaxed outside atmosphere, & not to mention Atlantic Station for a combination of dining & shopping!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Building a successful company is impossible without a strong support system that believes in your dreams. I have AN ENTIRE VILLAGE BEHIND ME!

My better half, Andre’ Payne, my Fiancé & COO of the company, has sacrificed so much for me to live my dream. Her dedication to my happiness isn’t taken for granted!

To my parents: Sandra & Lee Rollins, Travis & Cynthia Brown (Owners of Gigi’s Place Soulfood in Conyers, Ga), have been a constant ray of love & support throughout my entrepreneur journey!

My Sisters Erica Young & Ariel King have played a major role in pushing me to operate at my highest potential.

My Best friends Tonyetta Sellars (Owner of Yetta’s Tax Service & 5star Creations) & Jakita White (Owner & Founder of Love Beyond LLC) have redirected & instilled quitting is never an option!

Lastly, Distinguished & Renowned Organization & My Eastern Star Chapter (Olive Branch chapter 145 of Huntsville, Alabama) continues to teach me the true definition of being selfless!
