Meet Tracy Mitchell: Entertainment Publicist and Clothing Line Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am Tracy Mitchell and I saw a window that was open for someone like me. I am confident that I am very relatable and I always had a selfless nature about myself. In the entertainment space there’s a lot of people out getting it but not motivating others to get it too. I am a business owner. I own PR By Tracy LLC and I have a clothing line called Hustle Baby. My overall brand is Hustle Baby and that speaks for itself. The first step was I had the idea and then I brought it all to life. From there I handled the business/paperwork side of things. It wasn’t easy but I didn’t want to miss out fulfilling the dream.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am transparent with my audience. I communicate with them through my Instagram, my merch, and my YouTube channel. I believe the universe wants me to be transparent to change someone’s life or help them make beneficial decisions. Professionally, I got here through the music industry. I accomplished what I wanted then started going what I really wanted to do and that’s motivational influencing. It was not easy because I’ve hard dark moments of “WTF am I actually doing? Who am I really?” When I was a music journalist. I learned to overcome that by creating a balance between what I was getting paid for and what I really love. A lesson I learned is embrace who you are from the start. From the very start. From my brand and story I want people to know that they can do it. What you put into your craft is what you get. It might take years but your time is bound to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I enjoy Piedmont park the most. It’s so open, clean, and innocent. The energy is peaceful. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
