We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After getting my Masters in Exercise Fitness @ GA State University, I started my fitness training business and grew it for 14 years.

In 2013 my husband was hit by a car while we were visiting his family at the holidays in Kansas. We ended up staying there for over a month while he went through three surgeries and recovered enough to come back home. Our son was three at the time, and I decided that it was best to shut down my business and concentrate on my husband’s recovery and raising our son.

Thankfully, my husband fully healed, and I decided I wanted try a new way of being an entrepreneur. This meant incorporating all the lessons I had learned about well-being (physical, mental and emotional), stress management, the challenges of menopause, and using self care tools to self regulate my own nervous system.

I have learned how to slow down, re-define what my idea of success is, and prioritize what is important to me in this phase of my life without comparison to what others may be doing or promoting. Most importantly, I have not only strengthened my relationship with my loved ones, but also with myself!

This all translated into a balanced and fun wellness coaching career, helping women in midlife navigate the changes that come not just physically, but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What I love about being a business woman and entrepreneur at this stage of my life is that I can take what I’ve learned from other experiences as a former D1 athlete, sports & marketing event planner, fitness trainer, and mother, and transfer those skills into a fun and life-changing learning experience for other women who are looking for help at this stage in their life.

Some of us are driven to achieve from a very young age and accomplish a lot, and then we get to a place in our life where we start to question the path we have been on, and wonder what it might look like if we started making different choices that align more with who we want to become now.

I have a Masters Degree in exercise physiology, and am a Certified Wellness Practitioner. Being in my mid-50’s has gifted me years of self learning and wisdom that have helped me become really good at coaching other women to not only strengthen and balance their physical body, but also foster and strengthen their self confidence, calm their nervous system, and create more freedom, joy and peace of mind in their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has some of the best restaurants in the country. A few of my favorites are: Optimist, True Food and Rumi’s Kitchen which I can visit in Avalon in Alpharetta or Midtown at Colony Square. The food and decor are amazing. In the spring, I love to go to the Inman Park festival is still so fun to browse, shop and eat. Listening to live music at the Tabernacle or Smiths Old Bar is always fun too. Another place I enjoy taking friends is to a Braves game at Turner Field for great food, fun atmosphere and winning team all in one visit. Once in a while, I love to dust off my Rollerblades and take a spin around Piedmont Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to all of the women who have walked ahead, behind and beside me on the road of recovery from perfectionism, co-dependency, addiction, self-doubt, over achieving and people pleasing.
