We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process about behind starting my own business was two fold. In the beginning, I was provided a problem statement by the world’s busiest airports that I truly wanted to solve. I was losing sleep over finding ways to make their operations more efficient while also reinventing an antiquated industry by creating a ground breaking product. Finding a solution to a very real problem was something that left me inspired and when I experienced first hand how big of a difference our solution could make to facility managers and owners across the nation, I knew we were on the right path. The second motivator in starting my own business was for the very fact that I wanted to show the world that you can lead differently-with compassion and empathy-while also making it to the top. I wanted to be able to use my voice to support other women business owners and executives while also being a small part in the large effort of getting women a seat at the table in business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
TRAX Analytics’ mission is to innovate and digitalize the way the buildings we live, work. and play in are cleaned. Our janitorial management solution and mobile application consumes data from over 45 different sensors and systems allowing custodial teams to create a data, demand-driven cleaning operation. They now know in real time when to clean, where to clean, what to clean and building owners receive a real time proof of service that the work was conducted. Our goal is to empower the front line to create a more efficient and effective operation powered by data.

Our TRAX Clean+Inspect and SmartRestroom solution is in over 45 different airports nationwide, NBA stadiums and arenas, hospitals, corporate campuses and more. It was featured in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and named one of USA Today’s Top 10 Airport Amenities.

What I have learned along the way is that failure is an opportunity. When you are starting and scaling a business, you are inevitably going to make mistakes. However, it’s how you handle and grow from those mistakes that separates you from the pack. Instead of letting it cripple you or make you stop in fear, you have to reframe the challenge into something you can learn, grow, and evolve from. Be grateful for the entire journey of owning a business- the good and the bad- because every step of the way you are evolving and growing no matter what.

This year I started my newest venture, Mind and Social, with my co-founder Patrick Trevino. After our experience growing TRAX Analytics, we realized how isolating and fragmented starting a business can be. Our mission is to create a community of entrepreneurs and executives to grow their business and expand their network with. We want to provide business coaching and guidance, while connecting other powerful entrepreneurs together so they never have to start a business alone again. M&S is an exclusive network that gives you monthly workshops, content from thought leaders & business owners, monthly coaching sessions, and networking events you actually want to attend.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As an Atlanta native, I know first hand how amazing the food and music scene are! We would first go to brunch on the top of Ponce City Market at 9 Mile Station so they could see the views of Atlanta and enjoy a mimosa or two! After brunch, we would walk through the market to shop at all the local stores and head to the belt line for a nice stroll. After that, we might pop over to the Tabernacle for a fun concert in the historic and epic 1900’s church right in the city or head over to Canoe for an incredible dinner right on the water.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Success is sweeter when it’s shared. I would not be here without my family’s support in the business and my life over all. My mother showed me firsthand what it meant to be a powerful and independent career-driven woman, which inspires me daily, and my father showed me what it meant to be a successful entrepreneur while always leading with compassion and empathy. My brothers support and laughter grounded me every step of the way as he was always there to pick me up when I needed it. I also wouldn’t be here without our TRAX teammates and the passion they have in our mission of TRAX. Patrick Trevino, Jennifer Brown, and Dan McWilliams- our executive team- truly make this dream a reality with their help, dedication, and passion while leading our incredible team every single day.
