We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracii Haze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracii, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Hmmm…. The single most important decision I’ve made is one I make daily. Everyday I decide to be an artist.. Even if I’m not exactly creating in this specific moment. Knowing that I’m an artist; I gather energy and information to be processed and and turned into something beautiful later. It’s this decision daily that’s gives me the space and perspective that I need to continue to make music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the things that sets me a part from others is intention. My journey of healing is documented in my music. So the music is healing. Healing and spreading joy is my passion.. Ive been blessed with the gift of music as a means to do so. I’m most excited about the project I’m working on currently. “The Healing Haze Mixtape.” I feel the project represents a large part of who I feel I am as an artist and I’m super looking forward getting it out there. Where I am professionally is a result of just never giving up. Doing self work that has become an invaluable part of my music and the best fuel for my artistry. It definitely wasn’t and isn’t easy but it wasn’t and isn’t impossible and more importantly its been worth it. The biggest challenge I’ve had to overcome is probably my own thinking. Lol This is something I overcome everyday. I’ve learned that everything comes down to practice. Even thoughts. Even happiness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

So many things I have been able to do that just wouldn’t have been done with the uniqueness and style I am now accustomed, if not for you. I thank you, I love you. I am eternally blessed to have you in my life.

Aina Brei’yon, pushed me and lended her support leading to the creation and release of my first ep, Free Fall, of which 4 of the 5 tracks are produced by her: 3k9 productions. Thank you, Aina.

My cousin to whom I refer to as Shaktiva, you have made so many immeasurable contributions to my spirit. I am so full of love and appreciation for you.

The Book “Ask And It Is Given,” by Jerry and Esther, all of my friends old and new, my family, have played major roles in my journey which fuels my music; success. I’m grateful for all of you.
