We had the good fortune of connecting with Torre Sumpter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Torre, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be for my girls! I want them to always remember that you have to put in work to receive the benefits. The greater the risk, the better the reward. I want my girls to remember I never gave up, I never took No for an answer, and I always stayed positive!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I hand craft all of my products from anklets, Waistbeads, bracelets, and everything else beaded. I use natural stones for healing properties! The biggest challenge is Balance. I also Teach full-time, so the biggest challenge was to balance my time equally into the business. I have also learned you can’t be afraid to ask questions. There are a million people that may do your craft but the true difference are those that took the time to ask the big questions. Those that took the time to really learn their craft in all aspects.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start at Bar Taco for great food and drinks, then we would explore the belt line with a great walk or bike ride. Then I would take them to Atlantic Station for some shopping! We would get our nails done and take a nap! Followed by some great hookah and music at blue cantina!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to say thank you to my Mom! She showed me the craft and we continue to bond over the craft! Michael’s is our favorite outing!!
