We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Good At It and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tony, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process was generational wealth. I wanted to leave a mark and great impression on the world. It’s something I can call my own. I think more people should have businesses. Growing up I was never taught to own a business so it made me want one. Having a business has taught me to be more productive. Ownership is something we all seek.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well my art is Hip Hop. I fell in love with it at the age of 6. What sets me apart from other artists is that I take my craft very serious. I’m most proud of getting one of my records played on the radio in Atlanta a few times. I’m most proud of my new project titled Hit Different which includes my first single Expected recently released on Black Friday. I got to where I am today because of my drive and ambition to be heard. I study and research the things I don’t know and utilize the things I do. It definitely wasn’t an easy journey from when I first started. I didn’t have social media or internet when I started out or the knowledge. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is never give up, stay in touch with people you network with, what you don’t know research it, invest in yourself, be confident in whatever you doing. What I want the world to know is that when I release music it’s going to be Good At It. That’s why I name my company Good At It Music

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting me and wanted to show them a good time I would take them to the Trap Music Museum, The Battery, Martin Luther King Museum, Andretti’s to have some fun, Cheesecake Factory, Harolds Chicken, A Studio session, Magic City for more fun, Top Golf, and State Farm Arena to a Atlanta Hawks game.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well first I want to shoutout God because without him none of this is possible. Secondly I want to shoutout my mom for raising me with morals and values. Also for being the best mom ever and supporting whatever I wanted to do. Third I want to shoutout my wife for motivating me and supporting me to follow my dreams. Lastly I want to shoutout my team for believing in me and wanting to help me achieve my dreams.
